Appalling. Lack of staff, lack of amenities as already booked, rooms not cleaned. Pool closed at 5.30 (unless you were on a spa break), couldn’t get on golf range as there was a party of 60+ golfers, and the golf shop was shut at 3pm. That’s just the to of the iceberg.

We stayed at Studley Castle on the 20th of February 2023 for 4 nights. On arrival our room was found to have stained carpets, nasty looking stain on one chair and dust everywhere, the housekeeper was called who apologised and sent us to the bar whilst the room was cleaned. The subsequent days of our stay were also spent complaining about drinks orders being lost or waiting for ages for food and drink orders to arrive plus worst of all find a corn plaster in a bathrobe pocket. The Duvet cover on the bed had a stain on it which I asked to be changed when the room was cleaned, needless to say it was still there when we returned!!! We spoke to Tania the duty manager before we left, she offered us a voucher for £150 off our next visit. This we declined as not a reasonable sum due to the number of complaints we had to make Tania said she would email Joanne Hamick the GM who would contact us the following week needless to say we’ve heard nothing. We have tried contacting Tania and Joanne to no avail also emailed the CEO nothing. In conclusion the hype in the glossy magazines doesn’t stand up to reality.

Very disappointed. What is the point of taking out the booking protection when you are advised by the authorities not to travel due to adverse weather conditions and no one on the chat lines can help other than to say to wait until the day of booking which is a bit too late. Chat service isn't worth the money because they cant or wont help. Also hidden in the T&Cs is a charge of £50 per person - so you end up paying twice. Wont recommend the backend of the organisation will have to wait to see about the front end

We stayed in Heythrop Park Hotel from the 16th to 19th September. Its a beautiful site and lovely walks and a lovely 18 Hole golf course. I got annoyed as I keep seeing the advert on TV and not everything is finished. When we arrived there us quite a long walk to take your bags in. Apparently there is a buggy you can get which we didn't see at the time and as far as `I could tell no notices to tell you this. The room we had SW107 was lovely one of the best we have stayed in. It was a it had a lounge attached which was lovely to relax and read the papers. The only thing that didn't work was the towel rail which we reported 3 times and still didn't get fixed :-( Sadly he hotel is not finished. There was no Pool, SPA, Theatre and one of the restaurants was also closed. We also wanted to try the eBikes as we are thinking of buying one but these were also unavailable which we was not happy about. The room renovations are lovely and look really good. The food was good as well. I just felt the wine prices were a bit expensive. The Bar & Restaurant staff are fantastic and worked hard. As with all the industry under staffed. Sometimes we had to wait a bit longer than we wanted to. We received a discount of 33% but as the pool and SPA were closed this didn't really cover it, 50% would have been a better offer. We did have a go at archery which we really enjoyed but trying to book things via the site was a pain. For the slightly older people there a number that I saw needed assistance and of course the queues built up behind them. Parts of the site look like a building site. If you are considering then I suggest check to make sure things are finished. Would I go again??? Maybe once its all finished. A couple of my friends asked me about it and I told them to wait. The weekend was good because we met our friends that we really had seen for a long time. To coin a phrase "we did meet again" Hope this helps.

Just had a smashing weekend at Alveston Hall, the entertainment team were brilliant, the food was very good. Thank you to all at the hotel.
