I've been a Tower Hobbies customer since the early 1990s when they were a first class, 5-star hobby supplier, whether by mail order or later online. That was then, this is now. Discount codes don't work, online account purchasing history is non-existent, and links from Tower in emails often go nowhere. So small hardware and "buy it again" consumable stuff takes forever to locate. This seems to be Business as Usual there in 2022. Last August I bought an RC 800mm Corsair airplane, a fine little model but it came with a shoddy transmitter included that arrived with an on-off button that had fallen off and was rattling around inside the case. The battery cover falls off in a stiff breeze. None of this is Tower's fault, but I figured it would be easier just to upgrade the thing myself rather than waste time and effort on a complicated partial return, since by that point the model was fully assembled and too large for the original box it came in, and the word in the hobby commmunity is that for customer service at Tower, nobody's home. To be fair what is ordered from Tower Hobbies always comes promptly, but if extra customer service is required fuggedaboutit as we used to say in Jersey.

I am surprised to see the 2.5 stars with Tower Hobbies. I have been ordering plastic models from this site for just over a year now, and they never failed my orders. I joined as a "premium" member for $10 a year, and all my orders shipped free. I have also used their "premium" member coupons to get another 20% or so off already 20% off Tamiya plastic models, and that's the best prices I have seen online. I have been building Tamiya models for almost 60 years, and I know the prices! Another good thing about Tower Hobbies is when an item is in back-order, they never charge it until they ship, and I still get the coupon-discounted price that I was promised when I ordered. Well, I am old and have patience; I ordered a Tamiya 1/350 USS Missouri (Mighty Mo) last June, and I finally got it last week ... 8 months later ... with a price 20% less that anywhere I looked! BTW, this one goes to my 9-year old grandson, and his name is Momo.

Shipping problem have been a 3 year problem for me, when product is damaged or of poor quality, they have done nothing for me, NOTHING. Damage on product they say" we will take care of it" they have not , EVER. So after 5 years i now order things i can afford to toss in trash. More to my local hobby shops and we have only 3 in Detroit and they are 20 miles away. I would post pic of a many planes, left in the rain for hours by their shipping company they use, and do nothing to help make sure the product arrives in good condition. I have talked to them till im blue in the face and no respect for my 5 to 6 k i have spent there. And stop catalogs. Im done

Love products husband had fun puting kit together was tougher then other places we get. Good qualityreceived quickly but be careful with Easy pay. They take 2nd payment out (30 days after first) and 3rd 4 days after after 2nd not 60 days from first payment. They said it can happen and they reserve the right to in fine print nothing they can do.

I've been a Tower Hobbies customer for just over a year. I have been impressed with their products and their ability to ship most items the same day they are ordered--provided they are ordered in the morning. Their products have always arrived on time or before. I have spent at least $2,000 with them and all products were received in working order. I only had one issue with a part (that came with a charger), and they replaced the defective item at no cost. Their customer service and product support is good, however wait times on the phone contacting them are excessive--at times, over an hour. Recently, they put up a new website that now permits customers to chat online with their representatives. I used it today and it proved much better than waiting on hold. Hopefully, this will increase their ability to provide timely customer and product support. Their new website has been up for a few weeks and is a disaster, Accordingly, it is in need of urgent attention. The site lacks virtually any product reviews, and product information on smaller cost items is sparse. In addition, much of information regarding purchase history has yet to be migrated. Lastly, the ability to make payments on purchases over time through Affirm or "EasyPay" is currently not available. I trust that they will get these issues corrected.
