No issues here!

I've placed numerous orders the last couple of years and aside from receiving a couple outfits that didn't fit, I've never had any other problems with them. It's the only clothing store I buy from now because of their thrift store pricing. I have a couple of designer handbags from them as well and no issues. I've never sent them items to buy from me but you'll find issues getting what you want price wise no matter where you go. They're buying used clothing from you and will mark up for profit, that's just how you keep a business going, profit.

Caveat emptor

I'm giving two stars because 3 of 9 things I ordered I'm keeping. The rest is going back. Just like other reviews have stated, the clothes are grossly misrepresented. They say they measure them, but if they do, they need to teach there staff how to use a tape measure first because not one item came the size that it's measurement said it was. The items I'm keeping I'm actually giving to my daughter who is tiny and everything I ordered was large or XL. Second, do not buy anything that says"good". The items that were so called good would have been in the $2 bin at the salvation army. They should never have been resold. One Calvin Klein sweater showed up with food all over it and reeked of cigarette smoke. It was fowl and they must have used a stock photo of the item because the one I received was a stretched out slouchy mess. Nothing like it's photo. Another athlete top I ordered was represented as a lovely blue sweater. It was not a sweater, it was an old pilly sweatshirt that had been worn and washed so many times the inside was one big shaggy pile. It was represented as good with some minor wear on fabric. It had three big white bleach stains on the right boob! How can that be minor? Right in front on your boob!?!? Everything was so terrible I had a second order I made and contacted them to cancel it immediately after receiving my first. If you want to shop here, first probably go by the brands size chart not there measurements and NEVER by"good" only buy "excellent" quality. Also, probably new with tags I'm assuming will be good quality as well. I'm hoping. Gawd, who knows. I'm so bummed because I loved the idea of reselling clothes. I love the whole good for the planet aspect because it is. And I love thrifting already, I love the idea of an awesome thrift store on your phone full of only good products, but this company needs a major overhaul to really be successful. They need to just say no to items that aren't quality anymore, no matter the label. And they definitely need to teach there staff how to measure or don't put the measurements up at all. Link to size charts for the brand instead. And they need authentic photos of the items, not stock photos. Also, if something is covered in food and smells of a years worth of chain smoking, don't sell it just cause it says Calvin Klein. It was Calvin disgusting.

A mess and less and less worth time and money

Everything about engaging with ThredUP is risky. Risk of wasting my time, minimally, plus the risk of receiving something not as described (frequent in my experience) or even gross (occasional in my experience), and this is compounded by them adding fees to your experiences, being slow deal with anything, and generally difficult to work with — which comes across as intentional so they keep your money. Initially ThredUP was a great thrifting experience, but now they've giving online thrifting a bad name, in my opinion. I would never send anything to ThredUP that I wasn't comfortable just donating, because chances are I would be donating … mainly to their business! I sent them one bag of high quality and carefully selected items last year, they took about 6 months to process it (all the while providing the wrong time estimate for when they would finally get to it), and ultimately sold my stuff this year without compensating me in any way because it didn't sell before (but did sell just after!) a short deadline they set after all that waiting I did for them to list. I'm surprised my stuff even got eyes on it after their deadline, considering the massive confusing glut of merchandise they have, much of which seems to be mislabeled. I've given up on writing in with corrections for them, as they take too long to even partially address issues, and they avoid admitting any fault. I first enjoyed their site as a way to collect some limited edition colorways from a favorite brand of mine, but had to quit because of egregious mislabeling of sizes, condition, and pricing on their end that was so easy to refute using information and direct comparisons from the brand itself. I've lucked out with some good purchases from ThredUP, but it feels like I've truly gotten lucky on those occasions in light of the other occasions where I've gotten something listed as decent or excellent quality that simply wasn't as described and sometimes actually gross and/or unwearable. I sent them a return about a month ago that wasn't as described and of course they haven't refunded me yet. And after all the fees for returning an item, it's barely worth it to do so. Even when I get a good deal on something that turns out to be actually nice, I feel bad now because I know chances are whoever took good care of that item and entrusted it to ThredUP either did not get any cut of the sale or not close to what they should've been compensated for their part.

From a once-happy ThredUp customer (sigh!)

When I first started shopping on ThredUp, I loved it. Nice clothes, fair prices, accurate descriptions, free returns. My closet is full of ThredUp outfits from that period. But they've deteriorated dramatically in the past few years. Half the carefully chosen items in my last clean-out kit didn't even get listed -- including items I know were popular brands in good condition. I was just preparing to try again when they slapped a $14.99 fee on processing a clean-out kit. And now they've raised the return fee to $3.99. It's obvious that, on most items, the listed measurements bear no resemblance to the actual measurements. (A size XL with a 30" bust? Oh, please!) I still shop with them on occasion, but I'm very careful and picky now. And the quality of what they're listing doesn't seem to be as good -- possibly because, like me, people have stopped sending them their good stuff.

I recently made my first purchase with…

I recently made my first purchase with Thredup. I purchased a "Naketano" zip up hoodie, as it was advertised as such. I received the hoodie in the mail yesterday and it is clearly not an authentic Naketano hoodie. The patches aren't even securely attached to the fabric. Very disappointed. Even knock-offs have better quality.
