I've placed numerous orders the last couple of years and aside from receiving a couple outfits that didn't fit, I've never had any other problems with them. It's the only clothing store I buy from now because of their thrift store pricing. I have a couple of designer handbags from them as well and no issues. I've never sent them items to buy from me but you'll find issues getting what you want price wise no matter where you go. They're buying used clothing from you and will mark up for profit, that's just how you keep a business going, profit.

I’m a reoccurring costumer. In the beginning, I used to buy “good condition” clothing and they showed up tattered and with holes or faded. Then I started doing “excellent condition” filter and for a while it was good. I got decent condition clothing good to be worn. This recent delivery has me deleting the entire app. All the clothes I bought are going TO THE TRASH because thrift stores won’t even accept them. I basically took my money and shredded it up because barely 3 pieces were salvageable. Unfortunately if you want environmental and affordable clothing, you will end up throwing your money away on disgusting clothing pieces. EDIT: Went from 1 star to 5 stars. They refunded me everything I took a picture of when I complained to them and I didn’t even ask for a refund. The way they handled my interaction made me Incredibly happy.

The US generates just over 17 million tons of textile waste per year according to the most recent EPA data. That is around 112 lb per person, gross! Thread up is an exceptional way to reuse and reduce the waste generated by Americans. I have been a thredup customer for over 3 years and have loved every item that I have selected. Yes, some don't fit the best or not perfect for my body type but I can send them back and select something different. No different than purchasing something brand new online. I'm getting name brand clothing for a fraction of the price and feeling good about my purchase knowing I'm not adding to the landfills. I hope they come up with a men's line soon. Highly recommend!

I have been using them for 4 years only for purchases. I would never send my clothes to them to sell especially after reviews, but purchases have been great. I've bought about 300 pieces and maybe 2 were not best quality and 3 didn't fit well but Oh well.

I'm SO impressed with ThredUp. I've purchased quite a few things over the last year or so and have had two occasions to engage customer service, both incredibly satisfying and surprising. On the first occasion I purchased a couple pairs of shoes, one of which I was SO looking forward to having on my feet! The package was reportedly delivered a day earlier than expected but apparently went missing as I never received it (but I wasn't there the day it came, either). When I contacted Customer Service to see if it had been returned to them or if there was any additional delivery information, I was disappointed to learn that the delivery to my unit within the condo complex was all they knew about BUT the CSR refunded my purchase since I didn't receive it. Honestly, you could have knocked me over with a feather because for the most part a) customer service people don't simply accept your 'story' without requiring some substantiation - a document, photo, etc., and b) full refund are a rarity, pure and simple. The second time I engaged a CSR via chat - which works beautifully, by the way - I was debating the accuracy of a description of a final sale item. Represented as EXCELLENT with no visible signs of wear, the skirt actually had lost its elasticity in the waist, a portion of the elastic having pulled out and was rather brittle, an indication it'd been dry cleaned repeatedly. Without requiring a photo my CSR just went ahead and processed a full refund on the item! I explained I didn't expect that and wanted to keep the (St. Johns Knit) skirt (!) she told me that since it was a final sale they wouldn't want to sell it to anyone else and it was appropriate to refund me 100% for the item. Honestly, how often have you engaged a retailer regarding a problem with your purchase and received such efficient and comprehensive recompense? It's truly rare indeed! So, twice impressed with customer service and frequently impressed with the accuracy of descriptions, measurements and quality of the items I've purchased from ThredUp. I dig the ability to seek specific things and they'll send me alerts if something remotely close arrives. Likewise I can search for my favorite designers and receive alerts for anything they receive of theirs. Seaching such a huge database as ThredUp has is a big deal and their search engine is one of the few that returns ONLY what you've searched for - not a bunch of items that aren't your size, for instance; or a different color. I'm truly impressed (obvi) and remind other reviewers who've left less than positive remarks, ThredUp is a SECOND HAND store and they process thousands (tens of thousands) of items so there are bound to be mistakes, but unlike other online retailers, ThredUp's customer service aims to please and make good on whatever issues you encounter. Me thinks their model should be embraced by more retailers out there -especially online retailers.
