I genuinely can't understand the negative reviews. We did yums boxes for 3 years straight and loved it. It was the easiest way to get my kiddos to try new unique stuff. We'd make a whole thing out of it, read the book aloud, and all try the item at the same time. Whether we liked some of the stuff or not, it was fantastic family time had around the table and we learned tidbits about other countries. We tried another box once and we were just disappointed.

I’ve been subscribed to Universal Yums for 8 years since 2016. The reason I left was because they went down in quality, lack of variety, and the price hikes for that lack of quality. The shipping they use now is FedEx parcel select or smart post. They also started adding in the sodas and drinks later on. They repeat countries and in all my years of ever being a subscriber they never did a Chinese box or a Swiss box yet they tease these items in the Christmas boxes. If I want anything from the current subscriptions I buy them from the yum shop. I think that’s a better value. Universal Yums isn’t a bad box? I had so many memories with this subscription. 3 pregnancy cravings 2 kids! Even when my kids grew up they loved the snacks. Thanks for the memories but for now it’s time for me to look at more variety. I want to add that I never needed to contact customer service in the 8 years I was with them one year I did but that was it. Never had an issue receiving my snacks! Oh and my email was replied seconds after I had sent it.

We only recently cancelled our monthly subscription after many years with Universal Yums, but we still gift this to family and friends often - and it's always a hit. Our experience, over several years was: shipping was always prompt, packages in great condition, the few times we contacted customer service (with questions not issues to resolve) we had great experiences, price was very reasonable & different sized subscriptions are available. I'm a freak when it comes to expiration dates so wanted to address that: we never got out of date items. What did happen is dates that were coming up soon on some items, but when we researched specifically the related country's dating regulations, they had "sell by" dates as their standard on packaging or very clear details that "best by" dates were just that - freshest by but not by any means a safety issue. We used the booklets that came with as well. Don't want to ruin any surprises, but our tradition was to cover almost all the amazing information in the books together while tasting. We've found foods we keep ordering now (love they added this feature) and things we will only ever try once. Have used the additional info in booklets while volunteering with kids' groups, too - very informative. So why leave? The only reason for 4 starts: again - we'd been getting their monthly boxes for years. The countries & some of the snacks do start to repeat. This is understandable - purchasing in bulk internationally must have its own limitations, but it was simply time to try a new service. We may be back & the next service has some high standards to live up to!

I just got my first order from Universal Yuma a couple weeks ago. Everything was delicious, but my chocolate bar arrived melted. Customer service took care of me by sending FIVE more of my favorite snacks for me to enjoy! Delicious snacks, great service, loving it so far.

I wrote a review on this product 9 months ago. Since then, I receive clear understanding of mix up that occurred during the 1st 2 months. I have also received monthly thank you messages from nephew as he describes his treats and goodies. I can only say that as a gift, it has been well worth the value. I will be renewing my subscription with universal yums. Rob
