SAILO – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

Don’t do it to yourself! Terrible experience. We should’ve seen the red flags from the start. We went on Sailo to rent a boat on our trip to Portugal and the listing seemed great, bespoke, not too expensive (€375) so we went for it but it was the biggest mistake of the trip. Long story short, the boat owner lied about what we would be doing during the half day rental, they kept changing the skipper on us till we got a girl that spoke no English and had zero personality and the boat wreaked of petrol exhaust the entire time. Booking was also way too over complicated with lots of hidden fees and confusing emails and messages flooding my inbox. Then when we tried to complain and ask for just a partial refund (because we get it, there are employees to be paid) they tossed us back and forth between boat owner and customer service till Sailo eventually forked out an embarrassing €5.25 refund… €5.25!!! What a joke. Don’t trust them. Go with a reputable boating business, even tourist boat trips would be better!
