7/13/23: Follow up to my review: I was very impressed that Madison Reed responded to my concern here and when I contacted them, they took care of me. Thank you Madison Reed - well done! Brings my review up from 2 to 5 stars. I needed my roots colored and usually do it myself, but thought I'd treat myself last Friday and have it done at the Madison Reed color bar. The colorist picked the right color, but just painted it on so quickly. I asked about how thick she was making the parts between the color because I do mine much thinner and she said it was thin enough. She was rushing, talking with other hair colorists, dealing with other clients and didn't feel focused on my hair. And now the grey isn't all colored - there are grey hairs popping up all over. This is what I wanted covered. I'm very disappointed and now don't trust the color bar service, which costs a lot more than doing it myself! I won't be using the Madison Reed color bar again.

I have been going to Madison Reed Flatiron salon since May 2022. My overall experience with hair coloring has been positive. My only complaint is how the salon doesn’t have a decent waiting area for client’s guests. My husband accompanied me to my recent appointment and I asked the receptionist if he can sit in the client waiting area. The seats provided are much more comfortable than the only one high chair by the entrance. Within minutes he was told to move. When I saw what happened I was ready to get up and tell the colorist I wanted to go. I felt it wasn’t her fault and proceeded with my appointment. The manager walked by a gave me the rudest side eye. She had her employees do her dirty work and couldn’t even approach me to explain why my husband was moved. I find it unfair if you bring a friend ( of which one has become a client just by watching the services provided) or spouse with you and they are treated so rudely. This Madison Reed should have some type of comfortable seating area for clients who bring guests along for the experience. FYI it was raining that day and wasn’t so busy. Plus not even one client sat in the seats that my husband was removed from and the reason I was told because of coloring process going on. To me that was total nonsense. I go this salon because it is a convenient location and I have nothing but good things to say about the colorists.

I have been using madison reed products throughout the pandemic. Pleased with results and quality. What I am not pleased with is the inability to speak with someone or even correspond directly with MR. I was sent the incorrect root perfection color. over a month ago. I am a redhead and the color I got was 3N Corato black. The phone call waits are ridiculously long, and a simple exchange takes way too long- or theres never a return call. frustrating customer service.

I have used Madison Reed from the beginning of the pandemic and found that, unlike many of the other reviews claimed, that it DID cover the grey roots and left my hair in great condition. The other reviews sounded too similar (similar wording, etc.) which makes me wonder if some competitor paid for someone to write bad reviews. The color reviving gloss, which I used when I washed my hair inbetween the times that I also colored it, gave my hair a terrific feel and look. I never found any store-bought brand as good as this brand.

The culture at Madison Reed is to give yourself and lead with a respect, joy , love , unity centered motivation . Daily we look for ways to brighten eachother up in our crafts or business. Understanding the difference between clients and friends and sisters . I love to call my sister my client and business partner! That to me is living the dream team .
