Last DIAMOND RESORTS Reviews from Trustpilot

Don't do it, just don't. It is like an ongoing trap and when you wake up and start questioning what you have and why you are suddenly paying so much per year, you will be told that you signed agreeing to XYZ. Corporate will tell you something entirely different than the "Salespeople" on site AND on and on it goes. I may die trying to get out of this but I will not continue to be a silent victim of the lie of "stay vacationed". Has anyone ever received the multiple pieces of white paper used to spell out all of the benefits and how all the great things your initial or additional points will get you? I have not which is unfortunate since that is where the real problem lies. A secret shopper or the FBI might want to go in and check this out. Unreal. Keep buying and you will never be sorry and guess what?....your heirs can also be sacked with this annual "benefit" and growing bill too.

Unfortunately there is no option to take away ALL STARS! This is my second review (first being on here for 9 February 2021- diamond have a good look). I wrote a review before to let people know how harassing this company is. I was NEVER a customer and for 8 years I have frequently had calls (at least two a week)… 8 YEARS. I went to one of those pushy events where they try to sell you timeshare! They call from different numbers. Well - I did what I was asked to do in feb to stop the harassment calls and they actually stopped until this week. I have had FOUR calls. Each adviser says that they will “take me off the database” which I have heard from every advisor for 8 years. Stop calling me now ! This is your warning. I will contact the police the next call I get ! Someone better actually do something now to STOP HARASSING ME ! NO MORE NOW ! LEAVE ME ALONE ! K Pattinson

I have been a fixed owner for 31 years. I have been left feeling disappointed and coned as I have lost money due to this company. As a fixed time owner I don't know how banking the weeks works and the first email wasn't explaining it very well. I have now lost my 2020 week. I will be putting in a complaint but feel it could be a waist of time. I am hoping to come back with a better star rating. Watch this space.

What you are about to read has been watered down. Trust pilot forced me to edit my tale at the request of Diamond Resorts who claimed I used “defamatory language”. They tried numerous times to get my review removed. I pasted the Diamond rep's statements at the bottom of this posting. If you google “Frank and Betty Lusk Diamond Resorts” you will understand the terms I want to state here. Please note, their tale isn’t isolated. When I posted my honest experience with Diamond, there were no positive reviews whatsoever. Diamond was made aware. They attempted to have my review removed. Ever since that didn’t work, there is a seemingly endless stream of positive reviews posted. I find that unrealistic, don’t you? Google "get more reviews" and you’ll see how this happens. MY EXPERIENCE IS AS FOLLOWS — PLEASE READ AND BE FOREWARNED: I was told the discussion with the sales specialist wasn't terribly involved and would only take about an hour. They made it seem like it was a formality. The reality is I was there, being pressured and intimidated for almost 7 hours. When I entered the meeting it was around 10am. It was getting dark by the time I left. Once seated at the sales pitch, I informed the sales person that we wanted to use the already purchased sampler to go to Europe. She told me the sampler package does not now nor has it ever allowed for trips to other countries. That it was a limited package to expose potential buyers to a handful of travel destinations in the united states only. I told her I was sold on the sampler based on the idea it would allow me to travel anywhere in the world. She said she's very sorry, but “I was misinformed". I told her Diamond is responsible for the actions of its employees and I wanted a refund because I made my purchase based on this “misinformation”. As a compromise, I was willing to deduct the expenditures for this current trip to Vegas, but a refund of the balance was in order. She called out her supervisor. The supervisor sat with the sales person, heard our complaint and when I said I wanted our balance refunded because I purchased based on the idea that there were no limitations to my travel, she did not immediately say no. She did not say I’m sorry we can’t do that for you. She asked if she could pull my file and review the case. I was left to wait with the sales person who took the time to endear herself to me with feel good tales of her family and experiences with Diamond. The supervisor returned more than 20 minutes later with a pile of paperwork. She proceeded to tell us that she sees I am the current owner of a timeshare from Premiere Vacation Club. I purchased a premiere timeshare in Arizona back in 1996 and have paid yearly maintenance fees on it ever since. The Supervisor informed me Premiere went bankrupt and their assets were purchased by Diamond Resorts. Because they went bankrupt, however, the value and use I owned and used with Premiere in the past was currently worthless. She explained that I was still responsible for the maintenance fees but could not use it for vacation. Per her explanation, I was basically paying a $650 per year but unable to take a vacation with my Premiere deed because of the bankruptcy buyout agreement between Premiere and Diamond. (note: I eventually discovered this was a LIE.) The supervisor and sales person both tag teamed me with convoluted reasoning. Together they claimed the Premiere maintenance fees would not only continue, but under the auspices of Diamond, would eventually increase, and, in the event of my passing, those fees would have to be paid by my children for the rest of their lives (in perpetuity). They reasoned this was money spent with nothing in return not only for me but for my children. I was devastated. This was entirely new information to me. I never received information about Premiere going bankrupt. Nor did I receive any information about Diamond being the purchasers of the deed. Here it is I was being told I am financially stuck through no fault of my own, but lucky for me, these two kindly sales agents were here to save the day (said EXTREMELY sarcastically) I didn't know what to do. I'm not rich. As a retired special education teacher, now in my 70's, I simply wasn't able to purchase a new timeshare without great financial hardship. Any money I saved in my life time I did so at GREAT sacrifice. That money was put away in case of emergency. But here I am thinking of the hardship I was told I unknowingly would be handing down to my children. It didn’t occur to me this could all be A LIE because we are lead to believe there are consequences to these companies for lying about such things. I was sitting there with my head in my hands, not knowing what to do, almost ready to have a panic attack when the sales person started pitching the "financial benefits of purchasing a timeshare as an investment.” She said Diamond Resorts was in the process of going public on the stock market. The current price structure for points she was about to quote me were at the lowest point they would ever be. Once the stock went public, those same points would double in value and thus double in cost. If I purchased that day, I would do so at a price of roughly 3 to 4 dollars per point (This is the ballpark that was discussed. It is difficult to remember precisely right now). She stated that once Diamond went public those points would go between 8 and 13 dollars per point. I was sold on the idea that me and my family could go on lavish, memorable vacations, and once Diamond went public, I could turn around and sell my timeshare and/or my points at a profit. Her words made me feel like I would effectively be taking vacations for free. THAT is what eventually sold me. I was made to believe this was the only way to not only prevent my family from incurring debt from my Premiere timeshare purchase, but potentially come out ahead, so I did it. Again, all based on the information presented to me by the Diamond sales representative, and her supervisor. I returned home from my vacation to polo towers with a signed contract. I immediately made arrangements to cash in my annuity to get out from under the mental burden presented to me at this sales pitch. At 70 plus years old, with day to day life and health issues to deal with, I had no immediate plans to vacation. I simply paid off my Diamond contract in full at a cost of roughly $30,000 and didn't think about it again -- until I got my first maintenance bill in the mail. Low and behold, I was not being charged the familiar Premiere maintenance fees I was both accustomed to and financially prepared to deal with. I was presented with a bill for $2207.07. Needless to say, I was stunned. Contacting Diamond I told the customer service rep my understanding of the deal I signed. The rep stated it doesn't matter what I was told, it only matters what I signed. Furthermore, this maintenance fee was not a set price and it will in fact increase in the future. I began to Imagine the kind of vacation I could take for $2207. What do I need a timeshare for? I could book my own trip at that cost and without having to pay $30,000 for the privilege. At this point I was resigned to the idea that I was SCA- (CENSORED) -ED and had no outs. Every Diamond service rep told me the same thing. Too bad, so sad. No remedy. You signed it, you are stuck. Per the polo towers sales person’s original purchase pitch, we as a family started exploring sales options. Low and behold, all one has to do is google Diamond Resorts scam and you will find endless stories from similarly scammed Diamond owners, all of whom say they were told they could sell at a profit, all of whom found out they couldn't even sell at cost. A search of Ebay uncovered the scores of Diamond timeshares up for auction starting at ONE DOLLAR. They are literally worthless. Everything the polo towers sales person and her supervisor told me has turned out to be a lie. All my decisions to purchase from Diamond were based on lies, falsehoods and intimidations. A woman in her 70's being hammered with relentless, intimidating information for roughly 7 hours is supposed to understand her rights? I am hesitant to admit it, but my decision making skills have been diminished by my age and my clinical depression. It is my belief I purchased the Diamond Resorts Timeshare based (CENSORED). Had I been told the truth, I would not have elected to purchase the timeshare at all. I believe I was (CENSORED). I believe this is a deliberate (CENSORED). FOR THE RECORD: DIAMOND IS ATTEMPTING TO HAVE MY REVIEW REMOVED. HERE IS OUR CORRESPONDENCE ON THIS MATTER (truncated to fit trust pilots review restrictions): Hi Marilyn, We are sorry to hear about your experience and look forward to investigating this for you. Will you please reply here with your account number and contact information so we can get started? Kind regards, Diamond Resorts Message from you If you read my review, you will see I already spoke with Diamond about this issue and they said "it doesn't matter what I was told, I signed the contract". So please explain to me the purpose of providing you with my information when your company already told me they were not interested in investigating anything and that Diamond was not responsible for what I was told by both your sales person and her immediate supervisor? Message from Diamond Resorts Hi Marilyn, We ask for your customer information here because we're concerned by your experience and hope to investigate the matter. Your customer information also verifies your review as a genuine experience to Trustpilot. Message from you I am happy to provide scans of my contract to trustpilot to prove I am a genuine customer. Can you prove you are "concerned by my experience"? In what way are you willing to rectify my victimization? Note: Diamond never responded, they simply attempted to claim I wasn’t who I said I was to get my review removed.
