I have deleted a previous bad review about the site AND the app not saving my highlights, as it seems they have done something about it. I subscribed for a year with no further thought as I have found a LOT of summaries about difficult books and literature classics, ranging from treatise of Immanuel Kant to works by James Joyce. I am pretty impressed! However I detract 1 star because often Blinkist makes a subjective platitude out of the work, i.e. its own interpretation, for example of a work by Kierkegaard it states that he meant to 'not take yourself too seriously'. Please Blinkist let us not reduce these works to common places: many times, these philosophers REALLY mean to describe death, desolation, alienation, etc. Just summarize what the author wrote, and try to avoid interpret the work for the reader: let the reader draw his own conclusion, and if the work seems ambiguous, say something about it, but again don't take a side for 'either / or'. Let's keep these cheesy Anthony Robbins type '.....so that life can be more joyful...' , modern day self- help platitudes, out of there, and you are doing very good work. Just summarize the content, as detachedly as possible....you don't have to interpret it, unless the content is very technical, such as that of Kant or something like that. On the plus side, it's really incredible to read a convincing summary of a work that would be too difficult, long, or just too 'smart' for most of us. I have not found these anywhere else, and the articles on Wikipedia are often too stuffy and littered with links etc that branch out in a million different directions, so it's easy to get lost there. Well done, Blinkist!

I was surprised to see all the bad reviews. It's a pretty straight forward service. This might be my fourth year with Blinkist.

Letztes Jahr hatte ich ein Jahresabo zu einem Sonderpreis abgeschlossen und war mir sicher dieses gekündigt zu haben. Nun wurde mir Anfang Dezember der reguläre Preis für ein weiteres Jahr abgebucht in Höhe von 79€. Nachdem ich auch alle möglichen Weiße versucht habe dies zu stornieren, habe ich eine Mail geschrieben. Auf diese habe ich zwei Wochen keine Rückmeldung erhalten und dachte das Geld sei weg. Dann haben sich doch immer wieder Mitarbeiter über ein Ticketsystem per Mail an mich gewendet. Nach zwei Mails habe ich dann tatsächlich doch noch den vollen Kaufpreis zurückerstattet bekommen. Finde ich sehr fair und kundenfreundlich. Damit hätte ich nicht gerechnet! :)

Ich hatte vergessen mein Abo zu kündigen und es wurden mir 79,90€ abgebucht. Habe mich beschwert, und man teilte mir mit, dass ich eine Differenz erstattet bekomme, wenn ich das Abo für ein Jahr behalten möchte. Der Mitarbeiter Tobias war extrem freundlich und bemüht, und das Geld ist auf meinem Konto. Danke Tobias 🙏
