DO NOT PURCHASE A SERTA-SIMMONS MATTRESS

DO NOT PURCHASE A SERTA-SIMMONS BEAUTYREST MATTRESS!!! THE ONE WE PURCHASED ONLY 4 YEARS AGO FOR $2875+TAX NO LONGER PROVIDES THE SUPPORT IT SHOULD. NOW WE ARE SUFFERING WITH HEALTH ISSUES. HERE IS OUR STORY. We are a 66 year old retired but very active couple living in Calgary, Alberta. We purchased a king size Beautyrest mattress from Sleep Country in Calgary less than 4 years ago. For the past 1-2 years, we have seen our sleep quality deteriorate due to a breakdown in body support of this Imperial Baymore HL mattress for which we paid almost $3000. The mattress sits on a metal 5 point support frame and box springs which we also purchased from Sleep Country at the time. The mattress already provides so little support while we sleep that we wake up every morning with neck, back and hip aches. We are a very fit, young-bodied and active couple, so age has very little to do with our health issues. When we sleep in Hotels or other places, we wake very noticeably without the same problems. We submitted a warranty claim to Sleep Country (who process claims for Serta-Simmons Beautyrest) but they denied the claim stating that the bed issues are a result of "normal body impression that occurs with use". They made this decision based on photographic evidence I submitted. They state manufacturer's warranty will cover impressions over 1.5 inches. However, this warranty does not cover loss in actual support the mattress provides for your body. With no one lying on the bed, the impression is just about 1.5". However, while sleeping, the force of my 190lb body lying on the bed, plus body heat, causes sag of 5-6 inches - way more than is acceptable and comfortable in any sleeping position. I believe the combination of pillowtop compression and especially loss of support due to spring fatigue has created this deterioration and extremely uncomfortable sleep. A less than 4 year old bed should provide much more support and not have deteriorated in this manner so quickly. This is an engineering/design/spring material or possibly manufacturing defect in my opinion. We have owned many beds over our lifetime and have never had a bed break down as quickly as this. We have 2 other beds in our home that are much older but provide better support and sleep. We regularly retreat to those beds in the middle of the night so we can have a better rest. This is unacceptable. While lying on my back or front, my shoulders are curved forward or back, creating shoulder pain. As well, the curvature in my back is causing morning back and hip pain. I suffer with this every morning until I can stretch and get moving. My wife suffers in the same manner but tries not to complain. The pain lingers throughout the day and is getting worse. It is affecting any sports and active lifestyle plans we have. Due to the lack of support and body impression, my arms and hands even start to tingle due to blood loss since they are higher than my heart while sleeping. Side sleeping is even worse, a position I love to sleep in - my hips sink into the bed so far that it again creates back and hip pain at night and during the day. We have been telling our friends about this company's product defect and will continue to voice our complaints publicly.

3 grand piece of junk

I bought a BR Black firm in July of 2024, in less them 90 days it has turned into soft, lumpy piece of junk, back pain, a total waste of three grand.

I actually had a very nice warranty…

I actually had a very nice warranty replacement experience! My husband and I purchased our beautyrest mattress in 2019 from Conn’s. One year in it started to sag. I contacted Conn’s they set up for a third party company to come out to take measurements, the guy that came out said it wasn’t at 1.5 inches yet and to give it a few more months. Our 3rd year in I started having shoulder and back pain and decided to try it again. Conn’s just so happen to have started their closing all stores and bankruptcy the same week. I got the run around for days. Finally a lady from the store said to try going thru Simmons. I called spoke with a very nice lady who emailed me a link to start the process and said I would hear something back in 3-5 days. I filled out the online forms, took all the requested pictures and hit submit. Day 5 I got a email to send a proof of purchase cause what the store gave me wasn’t good enough. I called Conn’s 800 number and they emailed me all the purchase papers. Sent it back in. Another 4-5 days they responded and said that the mattress did show signs of defect and sent me a name of the replacement mattress that was similar to the mattress we had because ours was no longer available with the value of the replacement….and wanted to know if that mattress was fine and did I want to proceed. I decided to go with 2 twin XL mattresses instead since we had the 2 twin XL base and kept the total under the price they gave or you have to pay the difference. I sent in the request for the 2 twin and 3-5 days later I got the last email saying to call and complete the order. I then called to place the order with a $0.00 balance and was told someone would call within 3 days to set up delivery of the new mattress. Day 3 I got a text from RXO delivery to pick a day to schedule my appointment. Day of delivery the guys called with a timeframe, showed up on time, they took old mattress out and brought new mattresses in. My only complaint would be that the process is a email queue system so it puts you back at the bottom to get a response with every email until it’s time to place the order. Our warranty will not continue with the new mattresses because we chose something other than what they offered so it voids the rest of the warranty. I purchase 2 twin XL 3” mattress toppers for our new mattress because if anything sags from here on out it will be the $139 toppers and not $3000 for a new mattress. Overall experience I had was excellent!!!!

❌👎❌👎 I was thinking about buying a beautyrest black K-class firm pillow top mattress.Thank God I read reviews, also tried them in three different stores. And they all felt different in different stores. Some were a lot softer than others. For the money , they're a total RIP-OFF ANYWAY.Also I heard from someone that a mattress has over a 980 percent MARK UP. BASICALLY A MATTRESS THAT SELLS FOR OVER $4,000 THOUSAND DOLLARS.COST THE MANUFACTURE,A FREW HUNDRED dollars TO MAKE.AND MANUFACTURE,A TOTAL RIP-OFF, THE PROFIT MARGINS.ARE TOTAL INSANE,ON MATTRESSES.BUYING A MATTRESS IS A TOTAL RIP-OFF.THEN THE WORK MEN SHIP,AN QUALITY CONTROL IS ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC,THEY DON'T OVER SEE HOW THEY ARE MADE, PLUS MATERIALS COST PENNIES ON THE DOLLARS, WHEN BOUGHT IN LARGE AMOUNTS.
