I used to love Bas Bleu—great items in their catalog, good customer service—but with my most recent order, they have completely disappointed. On Jan. 26th, I ordered a gift certificate to be sent to my email address. Bas Bleu processed my payment on Jan. 30th, but by Feb. 1st, the certificate had still not arrived. I called the company to find out when they would be emailing my purchase to me; they didn’t know why it had not been sent, but offered to send a paper certificate via the USPS. The Customer Service representative said I would have it by today (Feb.10th). It did not come in today’s mail, so once again, I called Customer Service (which is no easy task since they have outsourced their service and ordering departments overseas). I was told it was mailed on Feb. 8th; one of the two people I spoke to suggested that I check today’s mail, and didn’t believe me when I told her I already had. Really? It’s like no one is in charge: when you call Bas Bleu, you just get passed around from one rep. to another. No one knows what’s going on and no one has any authority to make things right. The company has an email contact form on their website where you can supposedly communicate with Customer Service, and they promise to respond within 24-48 hours. Don’t hold your breath; I used that form on Feb. 1st and STILL haven’t gotten a response. Sadly, something is seriously amiss at Bas Bleu. If I don’t have the paper gift certificate in the next week, I will be asking for a refund, and then I won’t be buying anything from Bas Bleu again.

I've been a customer of Bas Bleu for about 20 years - I did not make a lot of purchases but usually 2-3 items a year for birthdays. I recently found out that Bas Bleu has been charging me $14.95/month for some crappy VIP program. I called to get it canceled and the customer rep told me I should have realized it earlier because I did check a box and received a confirmation email, which he admitted probably went to my spam folder. This is a company I made sure to buy from even though it was always cheaper on Amazon and I had to pay shipping and they often had delivery issues. I also asked to leave my feedback and the customer rep told me that management sometimes reviewed their calls - Well, can't fix a problem if you don't know about it! I will not be shopping with this company again, although I might use their catalog to pick out items on Amazon:)
