Last Backblaze Reviews from Trustpilot

I have been using Backblaze for over 15 years, and generally, I am satisfied. It saved me a couple of times. The Good: - Backing up terabytes for that amount of money is well worth the price - Upload speeds (I can back up tens of gigabytes in a few hours). I was on copper with 30 Mbps upload speeds and now on fiber, with my wifi being the limited factor, I get up to 100 Mbps upload speeds. - Downloading data was straightforward (and fast) - Responsive support (I've read the bad reviews here, but I had quick response, even over the weekend from a real person that was very knowledgable and methodical) - Simple pricing and offering To be improved: - The user interface of the software really is outdated and sometimes buggy. I looks like it didn't get much attention by UX designers and developers in the past years. - No way to remove auto-renewal (I don't get this, the bad reviews they're getting on that cost them more than the potential loss in revenue IMO). Also, if someone wants to leave, you're not going to keep them by removing a feature that, by all accounts, should be default in any online service

In common with the other 5 star reviewers here, I’m taken aback by the number of bad revies for this organisation. As a photographer based in Scotland, I’ve used Backblaze to back up my images for over 6 years and have found them to be effective, efficient and communicative. Every single time I’ve reached out to them, a named individual has responded withing 24 hours and that same person has seen the conversation through to a conclusion. Having previously recovered individual images, I’ve just used them to recover 2tb of images due to me (like a total eejit) dropping an external drive. The recovery process was simple and within a week I had a 2tb drive with all my images delivered to my door. Just my opinion, but I believe that the vast majority of the poor reviews are down to user-error and people simply not taking due care when linking all their drives. I may not have used them if I’d seen these reviews, but I’ll continue with Backblaze and can’t recommend them highly enough…

I do not know why the low reviews. I have been using backblaze for years and I am very happy with their services. Only have had to download once and it worked perfectly.

4star because their customer support pulled through. I kept subscribing for months after my computer died, because the process for canceling was way harder than it should be. I finally got my act together and asked for backup of my data on a $204 1TB drive. I had some issues recovering data that if unresolved, which would have resulted in a 1star review, but within 1 day their support gave me a workable solution and I am satisfied. The process for canceling service is ridiculously tough, and I checked through 3-4 different options and it seemed to work, but I don’t know if I checked too many or not enough. Regardless, it worked out, and if I needed an automatic backup in the future, I wouldn’t hesitate to consider Backblaze.

No idea what most people on here are complaining about, if you check at least once a week, which takes ten seconds, to see if the backup is actually progressing, there will be no issues when restoring later down the line. The 500GB zip limit makes sense to some extend, since this solution is not meant for storing 10's of terabytes as some gladly would use it. I had no problems over the years and recommend them as a good backup provider for a good cost per month.
