I donated way back in early spring and got 10 trees by late May. Since I live in Southwest Utah, it was already getting hot. I have 1 tree doing very well, 2 barely surviving the heat and the other 7 are dead. If they are going to send trees, they need to send them out a lot earlier. But maybe that's the point to get one or two trees to survive out of 10? Charity Navigator gave them 4 stars or 98% rating as did Charity Watch so they must be doing something good. Although according to the Charity Watch site, they seem to be having some problems with the State of California.

I donate to the arbor day foundation because I want to help the planet and help plant more trees. One time I donated and they sent me a cute bird feeder. Another time I received some bulbs for planting. The gifts I get after donating are nice treat but I donate to help not really to receive these gifts. I recommend that if you want to help plant trees that this is a good foundation to donate to. Just don't donate if you're doing it to get freebies in the mail.

This year I purchased 18 bare root trees from Arbor Day foundation. 4 Red Delicious Apples, 2 Jonathan Apples, 2 Gala Apples, 2 Belle of Georgia Peaches, 2 Damsom Plums, 2 Hazelnut, 2 Pecan and 2 Red Maple. The all came out of Dormancy and are growing well. I was skeptical after reading the reviews but my experience was truly fantastic
