Trader Joe's – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

I love the variety that's offered, it's my go to supermarket!

Trader Joe's in Davie Florida has been goto grocery store for the past 5 years. My major complaint is that more and more people are shopping at my store, so I avoid weekends. I buy a lot of Organic food at a decent price. I like the fact that produce is fresh at my store, and packaged foods have clearly marked expiration dates. I find prices are significantly lower than many other grocery stores, except for some things like Costco roasters. Last Tuesday they were out frozen salmon with mint risotto. I asked when they would get more. A manager told me he could take my number and call me when they came in. He called the next day and 4 salmon dinners were being held in my name. I wish I knew about this service sooner.

Overall a good grocery store with competitive prices. I have never found out of date food here. The cashiers are quick to spot any defects in packaging or damaging I may have missed. The stores are always clean and have plenty of cart wipes. Why only four stars? I agree that the plastic packaging is a little much. The stores out here don't use it on all items, but why use it if it's not needed? I know they don't have full control over what suppliers do, but I have opened bags of frozen food to find more bags inside as an example. One bag for meat, one bag for veggies, and one bag for sauce all inside the outer plastic bag. Sauce can be frozen into blocks. Meat and veggies could be separated by compartments formed from the outer bag. There was no reason for four plastic bags. On the bright side, most of their jars are glass and the stores don't carry plastic bags at all: paper only. The utensils also are made of bio-plastic and wrapped in paper. It's a good step in the right direction.

Now that we are emerging from the panic of The Pandemic, I'd like to say THANK YOU to Trader Joe's. They maintained vigilance in their stores by insisting on masks, wiping down carts and limiting the number of people in a store. To the reviewer who said she was thrown out "for talking about masks", I don't believe that's entirely true ( meaning there's 2 sides of every story) AND a store owner can tell you to leave their establishment. Has she heard of No Shirts, No Shoes, No Service? Thanks TJ's for setting a great example. 🇺🇸
