I've booked a move from Unpakt before and had awesome movers so thought I would use their services again but now wish I had booked my previous movers directly. I hated my movers from "Mega Move", they arrived 30 mins early (which was good) but as a single female mover I felt that the movers were trying to fleece me for money and take advantage of me at every turn. They first told me in real-time that I would be responsible for parking their parking ticket fine should they receive one because they had to park on a double yellow - the vehicle does not belong to me and therefore I should not be liable for paying for a parking ticket fee. They then took over an hour to get to my new apartment and then took slow painful steps to unpack my boxes. The mover then accused my inventory of being inaccurate when I had painstakingly counted my boxes and had in fact left many bags behind, this was the second attempt at fleecing money from me. After they had dumped my things I noticed that a few of my plants had been damaged in the move, the movers said nothing, and when I mentioned they said "that's why we usually don't move plants" - this was never conveyed to me before the move and if that was the case then I should not have been able to include the plants in my total inventory, I even ended up taking one plant out of the inventory and moving it on my own. I understand that some accidents might have happened along the way but ignoring it and not even bothering to mention it to me was beyond rude. The cherry on top was when they came to finally remove their coverings on my furniture, they didn't have a blade on them to remove the wrapping (what professional mover does not have a blade), and then they left their trash in my apartment. I'm beyond angry and wished that I had booked with my previous movers who were gracious and did not make me uncomfortable during my move.

Great experience! Was able to book a moving service with peace of mind that the moving company won't overcharge me based on time. Everything with the move went well, and payment logistics were handled for me! (P.S. Tip is not included)

This was the best of 4 move experiences I have had in and around Manhattan. I had very tight time constraints from both the building I was leaving and entering with another move stop in the middle. The team showed up early to prep everything, taking care of every item perfectly. They were extremely efficient, super friendly, and reassuring the entire time. The move was fully complete well before I anticipated! I would highly recommend to anyone in the area - 5 stars!

Easiest way to compile inventory and compare moving quotes. The description for each step of the moving process and what was required was clear and easy to follow.

I'll be honest...I'm fully supportive of having a middle company guarantee the price of your move (especially if you are going cross country). I've only moved cross-country once but the lack of a transparent pricing structure is unreal and SO costly. There is room for growth in this industry and I'm glad someone is working to improve that process. That being said, the customer service at Unpakt is HORRENDOUS. I highly suggest you make sure you have all your moving inventory is added the first time (or else you will need to re-approve billing as the prices change). This makes for a very unclear process as to when the move actually gets charged to your account. I understand why my move got canceled but the mere fact that the woman on the other end was so horrendous and unapologetic about the cancellation - I'd probably not recommend this until they get their "you know what" together. Be nice to people when they are moving because its a headache. At the end of the day you are in the service industry and positive attitudes go a long way.
