Terrible service. They sent me dead trees. Then made me send pictures for 3 months and then finally gave me only a store credit. My email is extra at drwn dot com and they have not given me any reasonable responses.

I purchased a Peppermint Flowering Peach Tree from Ty Ty Plant Nursery about 2 months ago and it arrived in poor condition, several large branches were broken and it was wilted. I thought it could be revived with good care of the tree. I planted it immediately with good compost and organic fertilizer. It should have thrived in that, like all my other plants. Instead the leaves all fell off and the branches withered and became dead over the next few weeks. I waited and waited for signs of life. When I checked small twigs for life they were completely dead. I reached out to the company for a refund and they had me perform a scratch test to see if there was any life at the base of the tree. I performed it exactly as specified and found that the whole tree was dead. The company wants to issue store credit for only the cost of the tree, not for shipping or taxes, and states that when they send you the replacement plant and if it should be deficient or dead then they don't have to compensate the buyer at all. So there is no motivation for them to send a healthy tree as a replacement as they state that they will not do anything to compensate the buyer should the replacement be unsatisfactory. This is trapping the buyer into a situation where no satisfactory product ever need be delivered for the amount paid. They could just knowingly send two dead or dying plants in succession and state that they have fulfilled their policy. This does not seem ethical or even legal. I would like a refund for the full amount I paid.

I was skeptical of ordering live trees through the mail without the opportunity to see them in person first, but I took a chance and was disappointed. I spent over $300 for three 5-6' trees. Upon arrival, two trees were badly curved and one was short. I contacted TyTy for help and was told that my bent trees were perfectly healthy and just needed to be staked. One of these trees was bent about 30 degrees within the first 6" at the ground, something that no amount of staking will solve. My only solution would be to plant the tree on an angle and hope it straightens itself over several years. As for the short tree, TyTy refunded the price difference between sizes. This is frustrating! If I wanted to save $30 I would have ordered the shorter tree in the first place! Given the expense of the trees plus shipping I had hoped there would have been some type of quality control, but apparently this is not the case - three trees, each one with a deficiency. Lesson learned I suppose.

Their plant insurance is a joke. They tell you to wait a few months then they ignore you. Make sure you pay with a credit card that has a long dispute window like Amex. You need 180 days to feel confident buying from these guys.

If the trees don't grow don't plan on getting replacements. Just plan on taking a loss on whatever doesn't grow. It was still cheaper than any local nursery even with the ones that did not grow. Go somewhere else.
