Great institution/content but pretty much forcing me to leave. I don't think they're matched as far as what they can deliver to the public as a service or what they provide as a product for consumption. Unfortunately the physical paper is cost prohibitive in my far western Washington town. Their digital offering is surprisingly cumbersome to the point where the learning curve to actually take advantage of available resources would take as much time and attention as walking into a brand new job. WORST is that my "all access" subscription apparently includes the daily joy of starting stories only to be offered the chance to add yet another recurring charge if I want to finish. "All Access" doesn't include food, sports, consumer information and no doubt other things I would actually want access to. I hope other people continue to support them because we don't need Newsmax or Murdoch to completely take over but NYT seems to have adopted flicking your face as their customer retention strategy.

I live in Italy. I have been a subscriber to the digital edition for many years. It is still not clear to me which columns are extra (I looked for that info today but could only find the ones I already subscribe to). I read articles that seem free and then all of a sudden I get the message "You have read all your free articles" or something like that. Where is it written that self-care articles are extra? If I know in advance, I can pick and choose the ones I really want to read.

I love the New York Times. As a subscriber I can get daily summaries of news highlights in my inbox that keep me up to date. The opinion pieces, though leaning liberal, include voices across the spectrum. I know I can trust the reviewers of new products at Wirecutter and appreciate book reviews. And, of course, I love the crossword, WORDLE, and Spelling Bee!

I appreciate the NYT broad and deep coverage. But we all know of their liberal bias, but so what. I think for myself. But submitting comments to terribly biased "news" and then not getting posted is kind of scary. They purport to be open to different views, a true source of unbiased news, but they are not.

Absolutely couldnt find a way to cancel an account that apparently doesn't exist but that I keep getting charged for. Finally see that customer service did refund my last months charge. They didn't close the loop with me. Hopefully my account is actually cancelled. It's a scam don't sign up for NYT subscriptions.
