Poor Quality Sur La Table product

I received a gift of a Sur La Table brand enameled cast iron cook pot. Within less than one year there were over 7 chips on the bottom and one on the handle. Previously, I had been using a Le Creuset pot for over 40 years with no such damage. Because I wanted a color Le Creuset did not have, I chose the Sur La Table, thinking the quality would be similar. When I wrote and sent photos to SLT, they declined to replace my pot. I will never purchase another pot from them, as the quality is inferior.

Poor Customer Service Sur La Table

My boyfriend and I booked an in-person class around 12pm for that evening at 4pm and when we got there were told there “might not be room for us” because our rsvp “just came in” so I was immediately stressed and nervous that I paid so much for a date night that wasn’t even going to happen. We brought our own wine and were told to go put it back in our car they don’t allow it per (Colorado) state law, so we did, just to see another couple in the class was permitted to drink theirs and was doing so during the class. With all this, we were a little thrown off but eased into the class with a welcoming chef and instructions to start cooking. When we were given our steak cuts (the main dinner portion) we had the two SMALLEST pieces of the whole class and felt jipped especially on top of the other unwelcoming treatment. This class did not meet expectations of a romantic date night, nor felt worth the price.

I had ordered 3 mixing bowls and found one of them had a wrong price sticker and big SCRATCH on the bottom like it came from the outlet store. I contacted the customer service and got QR code for the return label. But the QR code was not accepted at the authorized store near me, so I had to drive far to find the UPS store. All things happened because SLT sent me the wrong and damaged item. And it cost me extra money (for gas and time) to return it. Small but it shouldn't be needed and feel not fair at all. I liked the shop before but won't use and recommend anymore. *2024/04/27 I received the replacement mixing bowl, and it has the same conditions, the wrong price sticker and big scratch, AGAIN! I contacted the customer service soon, but no reply from them so far. I just want the mixing bowl on your web site with normal/perfect condition, not the scratch one with the outlet price. *2024/05/09 Finally I have received the beautiful mixing bowl I ordered. Took time but thank you very much for the replacement.

Grumpy Nasty management at Boca Raton…

For the second time at the Boca Raton store we experienced grumpy and nasty staff. We went in to take our second cooking class. We have enjoyed both of the chefs in these classes. However management at the store leaves a lot to be desired. We have decided we will not return. We had a $10 credit from a class that they canceled a year ago. Our friends called up and got there refund in 3 minutes. It took them 40 minutes to come up with a way to give us our $10. In every way this business is mismanaged.

Zero customer service/damaged Staub

Purchased a Staub 7qt cast iron pot in November that arrived with a chip in the enamel finish. Emailed the company. No response for weeks. Then made the effort to stay on hold for an entire HOUR to speak to customer service. Did reach a rep who asked me to email photos of the chip. This was Dec 4. I took photos and emailed as requested. Almost a month later, no response. A lot of $ to spend on damaged pot. Do not recommend. 1/22/24 Did manage to actually to resolve this but still a bit chaotic. They opened two tickets as two separate customer service people reached out to me. A refund is in process as I sent the item back after receiving a UPS shipping label. Took almost 2 months, but lcompany finally able to make it right. I miss having the local store in Minnesota available—this would have been so much easier. Raising from one to three stars.
