Its subscription is terrible. I subscribed my account on November for one month trial. They renew my subscription until April without any awareness. After some emails that transfer between us, they refund most of my payments. I think their mail sender need debugging, although the customer service is brilliant.

Äußerst informativ, sehr interessante Dokumente, Berichte, Bücher welche ich sonst so nicht für meine Recherchen gefunden habe. Danke auch für den 2. Probemonat, den habe ich benötigt um mich für Scribd zu entscheiden. Ich bleibe auch mit 10,99€ im Monat gern dabei. Beste Grüße

Edit:Al final se pusieron en contacto y me devolvieron el dinero. --------------------------------- Me enviaron un mensaje de que me rebalaban un mes. le di a aceptar. Me lo cobraron. Pause la subscripción mientras solucionaba el problema. Me dicen que hubo un error y me tuvieron que cobrar porque yo no era elegible para un mes gratuito porque ya lo había disfrutado. Ellos me enviaron el mensaje: "VUELVE con nosotros y te damos un mes gratis" Me dicen que NO me devuelven el dinero y sin mi consentimiento reanudan el pausado de mi cuenta pero cancelando mi subscripción. No tiene nombre lo que son

I stand behind every word. Can't say for certain but I'm 90 percent sure that I have discontinued the trial via my mobile app. I thought I'm alone in this when I filled for a refund. Came here and couldn't believe my eyes. Don't know how it slipped my notice for so long. The funny thing is that I finally did notice it when I returned to their website to actually make a real premium account because my academic year has started recently and let's be honest the document database of Scribd is pretty unique and beneficial. This point and also my inclination to judge this favorably and assume poor system and good will on their part before it is solved are the reasons I give 3 stars. But this is not the way a trusted company should behave. Hopefully things will work out for the best. I will update later anyway. (regarding Scribd reply, the ticket id is at the end) Update: They have responded to my initial appeal, offering me two months of refund as a 'courtesy'. Do you get it? I'm still trying to. Here is Scribd response(I'm trying to be most honest here and showing things as they are and not to my favor, for any future customer who read this): ------ "I've refunded you two more payments as a courtesy. Please note, that our Refund Policy states that you must contact us within 30 days of a charge for a refund. We cannot grant you a refund for any charges over 30 days old. I can confirm that when signing up for a subscription with Scribd, Inc. to access Everand, Scribd, or SlideShare, our Subscriber Agreement does state that the subscription will renew monthly until the account is canceled, as Scribd does not monitor accounts for activity. Our records do not show that a cancellation was completed for this subscription, so we will not be issuing any further refunds outside of what has been previously provided. Please bear in mind that transactions made prior to a certain date are inaccessible for refund, as they are finalized..." ----- Do you understand? no word about their lack of any decent message to inform me about the upcoming charge when the trial period is about to end as they explicitly promise(and I swear there was nothing. Update: I've finally found this email and also the reason why I didn't find it before: It was sent more than two weeks before the free trial end was ended and has nothing that reminds a reminder message, just "we hope you are enjoying Scribd"), no word about the fact that I didn't use their service all that time and what can be more obvious than that? but: "their records do not show that cancellation was completed"...be aware of the wording: "completed". So I have a good guess of what happened: I did cancel the subscription as I thought, but apparently, and suspiciously familiar, there was some page of confirmation or some nonsense consent page(but who knows I've never said they weren't creative) that somehow I didn't see, so hooray good for them I have lost their dumb game so let's steal my money. How nice of them to return me less than half of it as a courtesy... "Please bear in mind that transactions made prior to a certain date are inaccessible for refund, as they are finalized"...yeah tell PayPal that, I fear they will strongly disagree... Everyone can read and judge for themselves. But from my part, I don't know of any trustworthy company that wouldn't fully refund me in such conditions. Second update: to Scribd, my ticket number(I guess that is the id) is #5390950. I hope you can do something about it. I didn't expect it to be that complicated. Final update: Ultimately I'm very disappointed, not so much for the damned money as of what I have found later in the process, like the far-early reminder mail which doesn't look like one, plus no response from Scribd to my comment here with the ticket number although it was them asking me for it in the reply. What do you reply for then? to pretend you care? these themselves are why I further reduce the rating to 2 stars, and a big warning sign for me of dubious not to be trusted company, which doesn't come close to the standard in the market. [Review aangepast na terugkoppeling en terugbetaling] Klaarblijkelijk heb ik een keer een document gedownload en ben daarmee een abonnement aangegaan. Als dit vanaf het eerste moment duidelijk was geweest, had ik het document nooit gedownload, want ik heb helemaal geen behoefte aan het abonnement van Scribd. Het zal ongetwijfeld legaal zijn wat ze doen, maar het is een uiterst bedenkelijke manier van producten verkopen (diensten leveren). Ik heb geen enkele email ontvangen waaruit bleek dat ik een abonnement was aangegaan. Ook ontvang je geen maandelijkse factuur per email of iets dergelijks. Ik kwam er toevallig achter omdat ik mijn afschriften van mijn Paypal account bekeek. ------------ Toevoeging op 05/03/2024: Scribd heeft snel een email gestuurd, het geld terugbetaald en mijn abonnement beëindigd. Dat is keurig, waarvoor mijn dank. Nu nog iets aan het proces doen, zodat dit niet meer voorkomt. Ik heb het aantal sterren bijgesteld van 1 naar 4.
