I bought a Raleigh Array Crossbar Electric Hybrid Bike. The front light didn't work due to the heat shrink not being heat shrinked. Therer were loose spokes in the rear wheel. More importantly, the rear wheel was buckled. The whole bike had to be replaced. Other than that, it's a nice bike so far.

I bought this to commute to the station and then on to work from the other end. The route at the home end is arduous and I would wear out a rear freewheel every 8 months. The original replacement being £50, this is an expensive consumable and the freehub is now very old tech compared to the cassette-type rear derailleur sprocket. So i ended up downgrading to 7 speeds and replacing it with cheap ones, which had just the same lifespan. The gear shifter itself disintengrated within 6 months so I upgraded. Then the pin on the seatpost failed, meaning I had to ride it 7 miles sat like a teenager on a BMX. The rear wheel then failed and the parts delivery lead in time was over 8 months. Raleigh kindly lent me a spare after I complained following three months waiting. The contacts on the battery are also liable to failure, and a new one £400. Luckily a bike shop gave me a faulty warranty return unit from which I extracted the connectors and soldered them onto the old battery. The very helpful lady at Raleigh (Nicola) sent me another control unit free of charge after the system failed. Sadly it wasn't the control unit but the controller itself that mounts on the handlebars. Before I had the chance to order a new controller, someone nicked my newly refurbished battery. I had nearly given up having ridden with no power for six months but decided to replace the front brake pads... only to find that they had worn through the front rim. Nicola appears no longer to be with Raleigh as my emails to support no longer get answers. When she was there, the backup was excellent - including sending me individual new spokes (when two in the rear wheel snapped) and a new mudguard when because of the lightness of the front I wiped out in the station car park. This leads me onto wheel build quality: awful. Putting the front wheel on the other way round meant the brakes rubbed, so I then had a choice between refitting the new tyre and adjusting the brakes. The truth was that it was manufactured out of true (unequal dish angles). The rear wheel spokes stretched, so they began sounding like 'spokeys' of my childhood. The movement then made them snap at the hub. After four years (including one locked down) I am giving up. This bike is only fit for occasional/light use only. If you actually want to commute - buy something else.

Spoke to Gemma today Wonderful experience very helpful Patient and understanding about my defective fold up bike EV2 Worth more than 5 stars

I have owned a Raleigh Airlite 100 (2014) special edition road bike for some years now and it has never let me down. I've used it to commute, and do 30 to 40 mile day rides. More recently I bought a Raleigh Grand Pioneer Tour. I ordered this on a Sunday, received confirmation in the evening, an email stating it had been dispatched the next day, and on the Tuesday had a phone call from the dealer saying they had built the bike and it was waiting for me to pick up. So that order took just three days. I have had a few trips out on the bike and so far all good. The Raleigh Pioneer Grand is very comfortable and gear changing precise. In the summer I'll put it through some long days of cycling, but I'll keep it served regularly by my bike mechanic.

First of all I needed a bike, something light and all terrain. Been looking for a awhile and came across Raleigh had heard of the brand but not seen there bikes. I paid £250 on an online sale. The bike looked good in the pictures. Wasn't expecting a quick delivery as I read they ready make the bikes with just the pedals to add. Heard nothing for 7 days. Still not worried as I expect them to be busy. After little over a week I get an email letting me know my order has been accepted and my bike will be built and sent to my delivery address. Over the last couple of days I did start to wonder if something was wrong. Out of the blue today a courier knocked on my door and delivered the biggest box I've ever seen. My daughter absolutely loved it. Unfortunately my kitchen doesn't accommodate such a large box I had to cut in to little pieces to fit in ever so small bin. Not what I was expecting after a 12 hour shift. It was fun non the less putting her inside. Over all I checked all the nuts and bolts. Adjusted the seat and handle bars. Absolutely love the handy tools. Thought I would have to go rummaging through my shed. Bike looks amazing and great quality. My first experience is 5⭐
