QIDI Tech Tracking Order Status

I ordered the qidi x-smart 3, and have had nothing but problems from the very start. The hardware for this machine is very nice, but the execution of the firmware was done poorly. The induction style auto leveling system is poorly implemented, and should have been a strain style or a pressure pad in the bed. The updates are done pretty unprofessionally through a drive file from there website. The build plate is so rough that it has dips in it that are 1-2 layers deep and are the cause of adhesion issues. The auto level system cant even calculate the z offset which is its main function, and you have to adjust it at the start of prints which could take a couple attempts and leads to material waste. The machine is very fast which is nice but if all the systems don't work correctly that's a non point. The only nice thing i can really say is that Karl in the after sales department is helpful and responded to all my messages, and tried to help me get the machine working. I was sent parts that seem like they are sent out so that the customers can test them for the company, and since i use my printers for my business I don't have time to be doing R&D for this machine. My opinion of this machine is that it is unfinished and should not have been released in the state it is in, especially from a company that has been around as long as qidi. I received this machine on May 3, and have had problems with it since. I am posting this here because qidi won't post the ones I've tried to leave on their website and i think it should be available to other people so they don't end up with the same problems I've been having.

I recently bought the QIDI X-Plus 2 as my first 3d printer for semi-professional use. This is certainly a tool, not a toy. It is easy to set up and start printing, basically hassle free printing out of the box with good printing quality. Due to the enclosure - which can remain closed even for PLA in my experience - multiple materials (esp. ABS) can be printed with ease. The very rugged design and ripe technology show the good built quality required for professional tools. The machine comes with everything you need for rapid prototyping and small scale production. However, I would recommend to aquire a build plate from the predecessor version for PLA prints which can be challenging with the new plate in my experience (albeit one can always use glue stick). Also, there are several free models of alternative cooling vents which seem to have a better performance (as they vent air from all sides towards the print) than the stock one. There are free versions and nothing beats the feeling of printing an upgrade for your printer yourself and installing it. For this reason I am glad for the stock cooling vent and I would encourage everyone to try this out. Due to the quite decent looks, my machine is located in the living room which is why my two cats jump onto it quite often (one of them 5kg - pure muscle, of course... stop staring at me now, please, I did as you bid...). I am happy to report that this machine is, due to the rugged enclosed design, cat proof - as indicated by the machines logo (cat with superhero costume). And a final word about the really perfect after sales service. Competent, extremely timely with very short response times and very generous. In one word: exemplary. This is, how it should be and one can only hope companies take a long and deep look to learn from this example. Hence I fully recomment the printer, for the price Qidi is currently asking in their webshop this thig is a steal.

I usually don't do reviews if everything is fine. This time I have to do it, because such a serious and efficient service is very rare. Really satisfied, excellent product and top assistance, exceptional. Sure to remain among their customers in the future.

Our company recently purchased a Qidi CX Pro 3D printer. We are new to 3D printing and needed some technical guidance quickly. After trawling over the web and getting conflicting information, I contacted Qidi at 8:16am this morning expecting a reply at best within a few days. I got an initial reply with good clear answers at 8:38am 22 mins later! I have had two more exchanges since. I think this is a great service. The machine itself is every bit as robust as the reviews say it is. We are an engineering company so know what to look for in an engineered product and this is really nicely constructed with a really nice tactile feel to it, no sharp edges etc. One of the major feature in the construction is the "linear Guideways" these are industrial standard in all axes and are very precise and that will be where the accuracy that other reviews rave about come from. One final point, I hate it when you get the "free tool kit" (that you have paid for!) and it is the cheapest most useless garbage you could get, the tool kit with this machine is comprehensive and beautiful quality and in a box to keep everything together.
