Pleased with service

I have been with public for years, accumulating hundreds of dollars in saving against comparable plans with other providers. I have not needed any technical support in these years and one does not need to be tech savvy to join public. I understand (from other reviews) that customer service is poor, granted but do the other providers have good support? Not in my experience.. so save your money an go with public.

Been with them for over 3 years

Been with them for over 3 years. With my accumulated points my $40/15GB/4G speed plan is down to $32/30 days! Mind-blowingly cheap in comparison to Bell/Rogers. I have never needed customer service so no complaints. Free seasonal giveaways of data and international minutes don't expire either and I haven't used any of them yet. If you like money switch to Public Mobile. Real question, are these bad reviews fake? $32 versus $100, who can throw away $ like that?

Happy with Public Mobile

I have been using Public Mobile for 2 years now and enjoy the service. Usually during the Christmas Season, Public gives out free data and long distance minutes.

Happy customer of over 3 years

Happy customer of over 3 years (maybe more). I've never had an issue with their customer support or with their tech support. The few issues (which were due to problems transferring from Rogers SpeakOut) I've ever had were resolved in 1 to 12 hours. They are crystal clear about their customer service--it's on-line only. If you want to talk to people by voice then go find a different carrier. My suspicion is that most people posting negative reviews didn't think that piece through. Of course, you pay extra for the privilege of talking to live agents with other carriers (who won't necessarily treat you well or be able to resolve your issues satisfactorily). Public Mobile is the undisputed light weight champion of cheap plans in Canada among carriers aren't crippled by servicing only large metropolitan areas. There is another that is similar to Public Mobile in base price but they have no rewards discounts and their service outside of large metropolitan areas PLUMMETS to non-existent. Public Mobile has the same level of service anywhere in the province (of Ontario) as long as you have a Telus tower nearby. No other carrier comes close to my favourite plan of 100 outgoing minutes, UNLIMITED incoming minutes, unlimited int'l texting, 250 MB of data per month and very low cost overage minute bundles that don't expire ($5 for 500 minutes) for $13 or less. Yes, $13/month is the base price if you auto-pay because you get a $2 discount, and you get a $1/year monthly loyalty discount for uninterrupted service. Though, new customers get some sort of rewards points system that isn't quite as generous as the older dollar-based system (and, I don't know how long the dollar-based system will last). For two adults we pay a combined $19/month + tax for both our phone plans. The only weakness of note is that there's no roaming, even if you wanted to pay for it. So, if you want to go abroad you need a separate SIM (don't know about the US because we never go there). Oh, and, I'd love to get eSIM support to make roaming easier in the future (that way I wouldn't have to pop out Public Mobile's SIM to use a local carrier)

Satisfied in Toronto

I tried Public Mobile over a period of about six months on an ancient Motorola. I liked it so much I switched my account over from another carrier. Reasons, superior sound quality, superior coverage and a great price. Make sure you do your homework on the account transfer.
