Unless profiles have been verified, consider them fake. I registered a week ago, and already have over 400 likes. Not being a premium member initially, i downloaded the app extension that allows you to view all your likes for free. Now, I've deliberately changed my location every day, but 100% of my likes come from only 2 countries. Africa, and Philippines. As a free member I can only send 10.likes per day, so calling this service free is somewhat of a joke. To become a basic member and have full access will cost in the UK about £30 per month, but there's a cheaper way round it. Change your profile location to manila or cebu and wait 24hrs. When you.log in via the phone app you will get a special offer targeted at Filipinos. £4.95 is the equivalent in English. With premium membership I can access the more attractive women you don't see with free access. Also, I can filter out Africans and Filipinos. But here's the problem, unless the person you are messaging also has premium membership, its unlikely they will see your intro. OKC is the one of the worst dating setups.

Ok cupid has made it impossible to login. Or to retrieve alternative login methods. I do not own the same phone I did 7 years ago when you sold your company and all the features it had. SORRY BYE.

I decided to look into this website. I was on it a long, long time ago when it was very good. After match bought it of course it became heavily monetized. Many reviews say that the site is loaded with fake profiles and scammers simply because the users that are liking them are from other countries. They'll say they got 47 likes or 200 likes or whatever else. I will say that there are "some" fake profiles as there are on every website but the vast majority of users are real. Setting your search radius only changes who you see. It doesn't stop other people from seeing you. On top of that okcupid seems to regularly show US and Canadian profiles to users in other countries. Now I say that these profiles are not scammers/bots for a reason. Everyone has different numbers. One person had 13. Some people on here have 50. Do you know how many I got in 24 hours? 340. I am mass blocking people in the stacks to try and filter people out but it's going up almost faster than I can block them. I started researching to see what was going on because it seemed like I was being flooded by bots. Turns out that they're real people : /. Another note. If you subscribe your likes "will" go down. The like number they show when you aren't subscribed include ALL people you passed on. If you subscribe you will filter out people you passed on and you might filter to locals only. If you filter to locals only most of your likes, if not all of them, are going to evaporate. Even way back in the early days of OkCupid a lot of people I talked with were people from other countries. I had a great conversation with somebody from Ukraine. If you are interested in international dating then OkCupid is one of the few sites that parades your profile all around the world. If you don't want international then avoid OkCupid ;).

Je suspecte très fortement l'algo de mettre énormément en avant les gens pas très beaux, pour rester poli. Sur les autres app (tinder, bumble et fruitz), le pourcentage de gens laids reste représentatif de la réalité (sauf sur tinder ou clairement ils sont à mon avis évincés). Sur OkCupid, ça m'arrive de swiper à gauche 50, 60, 80 profils de suite, et sans hésiter, juste en ayant vu la première photo. Alors que je ne suis pas du tout difficile. Bref... C'est bizarre.
