Poor NUFC hospitality

Following on from previous post , I go to non league York city 2/3 times a year , for a fraction of the cost , we get this , ok not premier football but hospitality means hospitality, NUFC hospitality you should visit York City to see how it’s done . Why not upgrade your matchday experience with an LNER Lounge hospitality ticket, which includes: • Access to the stadium via our red-carpet hospitality entrance • Pitch-facing bar with outstanding panoramic views across the LNER Community Stadium • Flexibility to purchase hot/cold food/snacks quickly at our paid bar • Unreserved casual tables, chairs and poseur tables • Centrally located executive padded seats - the best view in the house! (Azuma East Stand) • Room hosted by Ex-YCFC striker lain Dunn • Post-Match MOTM Presentation • Complimentary Matchday Programme • Hospitality Season Tickets are available (contact Its waitress service from entering the ground to leaving . They make you feel special.

PLATINUM MATCH DAY EXPERIENCE.

PLATINUM MATCH DAY EXPERIENCE. This review is not a complaint or a moan , it’s To Share my experience of the platinum service , you will have to make your own decisions. As a life long supporter you can imagine my delight on Christmas Day when my grandson presented me with platinum tickets for the Man City game Jan 13th . He had saved up and organised everything himself , including train tickets from York and hotel accommodation. Much later I found out it was around £1000.00 each . Now at this point when you hear the words Platinum you start to think it’s the best . You arrive at Shearers bar ( great start ) then you make your way upstairs to the restaurant. A young man checks your name off at the bottom of the stairs and tells you to proceed to the top. There was no one to greet you and show you to your table you have to find your own table We sat down, there was couple on our table having a drink . After a nervous while I had to ask them if it was waitress service and they replied no you just go the bar . There was about 12/14 tables 8 to a table , Divided into groups by silver serving bowls , I’m guessing the meal is a warm self service buffet type meal . Which it turned out to be , we weren’t that hungry at the time so decided to let others go first , about half an later we decided to eat , I had a pork steak with black pudding on top and apple sauce , ( the menus said blue cheese topping ) wedges and green beans unfortunately i forget food kept in warming bins continues cooking and the steak had dried out and was dry , my fault I suppose. The host went round tables informing us we were about to leave for the match , good time to nip to the loo. When I got back I joined the the end of the cue with my grandson and other members from the table Problem 1. There could be up to one hundred people in a single file to go down a single width staircase led by the host , he/she then lead you back outside through a heaving Shearers bar , where you join back in with the other 1000s going to the match. The itinerary describes this eleguently , your host will escort you up the crowd corridor. ( back outside with the rest of the crowd ) By the time the tail Enders got to he atrium lift there was only 4 of us left . We got to level 2 got out of the lift with no sign of anyone except a hugely rammed bar , not knowing where the platinum bar was and having been detached from the host and time getting close to kick off we fought our way through the bar to our seats Our seats were at the very top of the Milburn Stand in line with the Leazes end goal , they were just ordinary seats in with the rest of the crowd and did not appear to be a special designated area for platinum guests , not knowing were the platinium bar was we didn’t think we would have time to find it get to the loo and have time for a drink so didn’t get to the platinum bar . So from leaving Shearers bar we had no further contact with anyone . We waited after the game till crowd subsided before leaving . The game was fantastic, the Atmosphere was fantastic the result undeserved and we had a great day . Was the platinum service good value - no Did it contribute to a special day - no Personally you could pick better seats online and have £300.00 to spend at any restaurant in Newcastle. I contacted Newcastle hospitality and apparently if I had read their website and and itinerary and the famous T&Cs I would have known better . I did explain it was a SURPRISE gift . I’m assuming she ment my grandson needs to be more careful. So you will have to make your own mind up , however before booking read everything clearly and don’t assume platinum means the best .

Club shop experience much improved

I ordered merchandise from the Newcastle United online shop just before Christmas. Their much criticised partner Castore showed little sign of supplying the item in a speedy manner. I raised the issue by email with the club shop who replied quickly, chased the order up for me and I eventually received it. Staff at the club shop have since been in touch to apologise for the delay and have refunded my postage as a gesture of goodwill. Under our previous owner, I'm confident the issue would have been ignored and I'd still be waiting. Despite much negative publicity about their motives for investing in the club, it does appear that our new owners are well aware that the support of the fans does actually mean something. It's been a while since I've been able to say that.
