Koop geen Neato robot stofzuiger!

Eind Februari 2020 een Neato Botvac D4 robot stofzuiger gekocht bij Bol-MR Commerce. Begin Januari 2021 aan Bol doorgegeven dat een wiel niet meer functioneerde. Bericht gekregen dat de klacht doorgegeven is aan de partner MR Commerce. Bericht gekregen van MR Commerce dat ik mezelf het beste kon vervoegen bij de helpdesk van Neato. Nadat ik alle gevraagde bewijzen en toelichtingen aan de Neato-helpdesk had verzonden kreeg ik een UPS verzendlabel met een verzendinstructie voor het versturen van de defecte robot tezamen met het bijbehorende oplaadstation. Beide onderdelen dienden gezamenlijk te worden verzonden naar een reparatiebedrijf in Duitsland. In Duitsland bleek de robot uit de verpakking te zijn verdwenen! Vervolgens nam niemand van de betrokken partijen (Bol, MR Commerce, Neato, UPS en het Duitse reparatiebedrijf) enige verantwoordelijkheid en verwees iedere partij naar een andere partij. De correspondentie tussen alle partijen is inmiddels werkelijk gigantisch. Nu ruim 2 maanden verder geeft Neato aan dat ze niets meer voor mij kunnen of willen betekenen en ook de andere partijen hebben nog geen oplossing aangedragen. Mijn advies is in ieder geval koop geen Neato. Uit recensies blijkt nu dat niet alleen mijn robot maar diverse Neato apparatuur niet deugdelijk is geproduceerd. Dat weten ze zelf blijkbaar ook want de oorspronkelijk Amerikaanse garantievoorwaarden zijn zeer beperkt en worden, waar wettelijk maar enigszins toegestaan, ook in andere landen gehanteerd. En alhoewel de servicedeskmedewerkers van Neato vriendelijk zijn krijgen ze van Neato ook niet de hulpmiddelen om daadwerkelijk klantgericht te kunnen opereren. Alles lijkt gericht op het zoveel als mogelijk beperken van de kosten en vermijden van negatieve publiciteit. MR Commerce is eigenlijk, samen met Bol, mijn juridische aanspreekpunt. Maar daar hebben ze vooralsnog geen boodschap aan en dus bieden zij ook geen oplossingen. En Bol?!... is wel vriendelijk maar fungeert alleen als een “sorry” doorgeefluik zonder enige toegevoegde waarde. Kan er nou niemand van alle betrokken partijen op het idee komen om mij, zolang de klacht niet is opgelost, tijdelijk een vervangende stofzuiger aan te bieden? Alleen vanwege de vriendelijke helpdeskmedewerkers geef ik 2 sterren.

Neato Botvac

I have had the botvac now for over a year and I am extremely happy with it. I did have an issue with it regarding an recurring error but customer support was excellent and resolved the issue, which involved it being sent back to the factory to be resolved. the only issue I have with it hence the 4 stars and not 5, is that I bought it primarily to keep on top pet hair as I have 2 large hairy dogs. The fact that the blower blows directly out the back and not angled results in the pet hair being blown around the place and into places that have already been cleaned. But overall it still collect well over 95% of hair. So yes i would recommend this product and I would hope that the design team looks at addressing the blower exhaust issue, if they haven't already

Fragile robot - good customer service

The robot is good for a year and then it stops working... I bought a D3 connected two years ago and after few months it stopped working following a firmware update. It was still under warranty so it was sent back to the repair centre and I received a new one free of charge, but the year after the warranty expired and the robot breaks again even if you religiously clean it and service it. Please be aware that this thing has a problem every year. This time the repair centre asks for £75 (€90) just to collect it and see what’s wrong. £75?!!!!?!!! On top of that you will have to pay for the repair! UPDATE: added more stars - the Neato customer service is really good - they offered to collect the faulty robot free of charge and repaired even if out of warranty. I have to admit that I was pretty upset at the beginning because this expensive robot breaks too often but what Neato lack in robustness, Neato definitely make it up with their good customer service.

Basically I am happy with the bot (D3 connected). But there are two problems with the design of the bot, which I do not like, of which any buyer should be aware of: 1. A better engineered bot would be easier to clean. It is almost impossible to clean the brush from all the hair which has been caught by the axis, Why? Simply because it is impossible to disassemble the brush. Bad for the owner, good for Neato, because now they can sell more spare parts. 2. Similar problem with the battery: It lives barely for 24 months. Then you have to replace it. Why? Because the Neato engineers did not find it necessary to implement the basic battery management a Li-Ion battery needs in order to stay healthy. Again, bad for the customer, good for Neato, because they can sell their replacement battery (bad for planet earth too, but who cares..).

when it works

when it works, it does it's job. so frustrating to get support when it quits working. less than a year old. i cleaned after EVERY use. customer support so pathetic, i threw it in the trash. recently learned from bobsweep vacuum that amazon won't share purchasing info with supplier, so the customer support process will wear you down before you can get a resolution. shame on you amazon! and i suggest these companies find other sources for selling their products. at some point poor reviews will kill sales.
