I am so fed up and disgusted with Meetup.com!! They have every glitch in the world, their phone support, WHAT'S THAT? You can barely speak with anyone and then they push you off telling you everything else will be done via email, the glitches never get fixed and keep getting worse which wastes my time. There is another organizer who is bad mouthing my group and doing vicious things to prevent members from joining my group, I have complained numerous times and sent tons of proof to Meetup and they do NOTHING about her!!! I used to get many members applying to my group, now I barely get any and I plan great things every weekend, but no one can find my group and I've done everything under the roof to make it noticeable. I can go on forever with their issues. I don't need this aggravation, I could just go to Facebook and organize my group there FREE OF CHARGE!!! WHY AM I PAYING ORGANIZER FEES TO BE AGGRAVATED BY MEETUP???!!?!?!?

Ich finde es ganz cool, um neue Hobbys und Events zu finden. Habe hierüber schon einen Yoga Kurs besucht und war sehr zufrieden. Ich bin aber auch erst seit ein paar Tagen registriert.

It seems Meetup is getting further detached from its users, possibly on purpose. They ask for more and more money, not only from the hosts (of who I know plenty who moved on to Facebook or started a WhatsApp group. Here it would be worth considering from Meetup side that less might more?). As of today also attendees have to pay to view things they could for free early. In particular, you can't see anymore who's coming. I can live with that. However, once you RSVPd, you can't see anymore, whether there's a waitlist and if people are on there. If you're not sure you can come, you tend to wait until you know, depending on the number of participants, unless the host requires you to un-RSVD early. When I know that there's a waitlist, I tend to un-RSVD earlier, if asked or not, so someone else gets a slot. The desktop page and the app aren't working smoothly. They're slow and they show different results, not occasionally but often, especially when there are loads of events in big cities. Yes, I entered exactly the same criteria, repeatedly. Sometimes, messages don't reach all participants. Often, there are error messages. In case of a series of one group, a new feature seeing that an event if part of a series, which doesn't matter a lot, the local time on desktop is not displayed but EDT wherever you are. So, you have to do some math in your head. This goes on for months now and is surely easy to fix. Also, in case of a series, you can't see anymore if you already marked an event. It's a shame but maybe a chance for someone else to draw up something similar. Maybe me.

Software is getting poorer and poorer. Most recent garbage popups leave overlayed divs in place which block click events. QC and UX are clearly low priority these days. I suspect the dev team have taken second place with sales and marketing at the highest priority. The evolution of SAAS is pretty predictable and we have arrived at the pump and dump part.

I love meetup. Meetup has now gotten greedy. I don't love that. They are making 33 MILLION DOLLARS ANNUALLY on organizer fees and now they want membership fees from non organizers. They obviously are not aware that folks pay membership fees to organizers to cover the Group charges from meetup. Now they want to double dip on members. This is pure GREED! The current owner group of the meetup organization are ignoring the original philanthropic reason meetup was created in the first place. Wasn't meetup.com created following 911 for folks to find each other? GREED IS SAD, greed is not something I support in anyway shape or form. I am sad. I have made many many friends through meetup over the years. Paying to see "who's going" is an important feature. There are people with restraint orders. There are recently divorced people. People need to see who is going to an event for personal safety. This should not cost a fee to see. This may even be illegal on meetups part. I am extremely disappointed and disgusted at the New Regime of meetup.
