I've been with KOHO for about 5 years I think, and up until Easter weekend, had never had an issue with them, loved their services; until I ended up needing support. When you are a company that deals with people's money, the support department needs to be reached immediately when there's a problem. A 1 minute fix took me over 24hrs to get to, and ruined my trip home to see my family for the first time in over a year, because I couldn't put gas in my car to make the trip until they fixed my card. All I had to do was reset my PIN, which I couldn't do until they sent me a link via email to do so, WHICH I COULDN'T GET UNTIL I GOT THROUGH TO THEIR SUPPORT. Emailing them gets you a quicker response than their in-app support chat, but not by much. I am hugely disappointed, and frankly considering going a different direction with my service.

What makes it terribly sad is that I was a day one KOHO client and I remember what the company was like when product managers spoke with you and you truly felt like you mattered. While it’s not all been doom and gloom, KOHO has lost a lot of respect because it did what many startups do and scaled its business faster than it could service its clients. Awkward code, outsourced support, inconsistent communications about products and features are all true. What the other reviews here won’t tell you though is that it wasn’t always like this and anyone who has spoken to a Product Manager or even Daniel knows the passion the team has for better banking for Canadians. When KOHO works, it works awesomely and the features are quite robust. We often become entitled and expect a Big 5 Bank experience from something like this but KOHO is about informing yourself and taking the reins on your own finances. That being said, when those independent minded souls come to support, assume it means we’ve exhausted our resources. The frontline support is an insult and if anything, provides reason for Government/Agency Regulations of FinTech akin to the OBSI as adjudicator or CTRC for telecoms. Enough is enough. Fix your frontline support and your reviews will skyrocket.

I was always so happy with Koho , thought what a wonderful concept especially if you travel. They offer a referral program, what a run around to actually make it happen. So frustrated with the chatbot. Same questions and you go in circles. So I suggest use the services they are great dont participate in referral program.

no actual support available. Chats are closed without a solution - they just say that we saw you opened this same issue via email so we are closing the chat - but they dint even resolve the issue via email - they said the same thing - that i was being helped already so they view it as a resolved case. You cant reach anyone via phone. It sucks because this isnt borrowed money - its money you add in but then if there are any issues you cant get any help - other than the responding people saying your issue has been resolved LOL ONLY use if you have 0 other options - they are not reliable at all - thisisnt the first time BTW. etrasfer dint go through but money taken, CC refused on most platforms, support just says its resolved without checking if the issue was resolved. +response is super slow - it now 24/7
