I loved Omnipage and convinced the investment bank where I worked to install the program in all their document centers. Yesterday, when I had to scan a mission critical document for a conference call later that evening, I tried to power up Omnipage Ultimate (which I had used a few weeks ago without a problem). Instead of the program working, it looped five times into Microsoft Edge (which I have been futilely been trying to strip from my computer for years), trying to contact a non-existent website, ocr dot com/startpage/news* The program then hangs, and you can go no farther. Could not find any workarounds on the web. The conference call, which should have taken 15 minutes, ended up taking an hour and a half, as everything had to be manually re-keyed. Ominpage worked fabulously until Kofax purchased it. I'm currently looking or alternate OCR programs. AVOID AVOID AVOID this once fabulous program.

I bought PDF converter from Nuance which stopped working recently. Nuance technical support told me that part of the business had been transferred to KOFAX. KOFAX do not answer emails with generic titles such as gmail and don't have a telephone support in the UK. Clearly they do not support people with ex Nuance licences. DISGUSTED. I will happily correct and update this review if KOFAX respond to an email I sent to their info email.

After purchasing Nuance PDF a number of years ago the software suddenly stopped working and plastering a Trial Version note on all my PDF's. Apparently Nuance was purchased by Kofax which caused teh problem in the software update. After months of messing about and me stupidly trusting their Tech support to take control of my PC the problem still wasn't solved. Kofax supply the exact same software branded Kofax instead of Nuance but they would not give me a licence key even though I had already purchased the Nuance one several years previously. A set of crooks. Do not trust this company. Neither logic or honesty figures in the way their company operates. They had me messing about for a long time without the PDF conversion facility for my small business.

On 26 December 2022, I submitted a support ticket because of a problem in Kofax Power PDF Standard. Over the course of the next almost 60 days I responded to multiple requests for supporting files and screen shots. In the course of doing so, I was able to pinpoint for them that the problem lay in some difference between the way Power PDF Standard and Power PDF Advanced display documents. Ultimately, they told me they had fixed the problem for volume corporate licensees, but they refused to provide me (an individual retail licensee) with any fix, upgrade, refund, or any solution at all. They were rude about it, too. This was an experience worse than no customer service at all--essentially, I worked for them for free. I will never buy or license another Kofax product again.

KOFAX PDF is not user-friendly AND I am unable to do the following: -unable to edit all objects within the PDF -unable convert the PDFs to be completely editable -unable to edit text that is unsuccessfully converted to editable -unable to place an image with zero transparency -unable to place an image on top of a KOFAX shape (e.g. rectangle) with zero transparency -unable to delete specific lead lines on the image -unable to match the text format already in the PDF -unable to paste in an image from another source (e.g. snipping tool) -unable to have multiple PDFs open for editing without the software crashing -unable to recover edited PDFs after the software has crashed The PDFs I need to edit are years old and were scanned from paper copies. The PDFs are highly classified in nature and cannot be recreated in AutoCAD or SolidWorks without multiple levels of approval from government agencies. I have spent literally hours trying to edit PDFs that would have taken minutes with Adobe Acrobat. Spend your money on software that works!
