I ordered a green virum bike on the 23rd of July. The website did say the bike would be delivered early August. I immediately received a email saying the bike I ordered wouldn’t arrive until the Aug17th. A blue step through Virum was offered as an alternative and I declined as it’s not the bike I wanted. Some extra accessories were offered as compensation which I accepted and wait for the green virum. August the 20th rolled on and at this point I was informed that despite reserving my order they didn’t have any bikes left to ship me. Jon who was handling this took responsibility and offered me three alternatives none of which I found entirely satisfactory but we came to a agreement I was pleased with where they provided me with a used green virum , spare battery to borrow until they received stock of the green virum in one month. Unfortunately they didn’t actually have one available so they sent me a new blue one instead which I received early September now believing I would receive the actual bike I ordered early October. On October the 9th i saw that the green virum appeared to be in stock on the Hygge website and also on sale on other websites. I emailed Jon asking where my bike was but was told that they actually wouldn’t have any stock until the 20th. On the 22nd after asking Jon told me now the first week of Nov. On the 4th of Nov Jon informs me of a “final delay”until the 14 or 15th. That date has now come and I am told they are hoping to receive stock by the 25th. Overall this has been a extremely frustrating experience and while I appreciate that customer service has been responsive and at points pro-active the fact remains that nearly 4months after ordering I still don’t have the actual bike I ordered. I am starting to loose faith I will ever actually receive it and just be stuck with a bike I don’t want after spending so much time researching what I wanted. As for the bike; I am happy with the performance of the bike which is extremely nimble and seems to accelerate quickly. I live in a very hilly city and am of average fitness and have found its legal engine capable of getting me up big steep hills without great effort and the brakes are excellent. BUT I have found some elements of the bike quite poor quality. I have found their technical support good. I have had issues that were my fault that they dealt with very gracefully and went above and beyond with. One issue that was nearly caused me to have an accident on a main road was the brace lock that holds the seat battery broke dropping my seat down and popping my rack basket off. Hygge sent me another locking bracket which was of much better quality and it had me wondering why they weren’t using them in the first place considering how important that piece is. My basket was also wrecked but they offered a replacement without me asking. I really want to like this company but the results are what they are. When i actually receive my bike I would amend this review but for now I think this is a fair reflection of my experience.

I recently purchased a Hygge Vester bike, and it’s been a fantastic experience so far. The build quality feels solid and durable, the Hygge team has been more than helpful and I would like to thank them, especially Jon as we went above and beyond to fulfil my requests. Overall, it’s a great value for the price and perfect for both casual rides and longer adventures. Highly recommend!

We bought 2 Vesters and delivery was prompt and efficient. The bikes themselves are fabulous, and we find everyone we have dealt with at Hygge bikes to be so helpful. They are a company that is clearly focussed on excellent customer care and that is coming across loud and clear. We look forward to being part of the Hygge community.

Virum Step Foldable E-Bike I spent a long time doing online electric folding bike research, and didn't want a Chinese bike. So I was really pleased to discover Hygge which met all my requirements. I got a rapid response to the questions I asked via the Hygge online customer support chat line. Bike was delivered within 4 days of ordering. it's a good build quality and looks good and folds easily. It's the best lightest weight folding e-bike I could find for the money.
