GigSky Tracking Order Status

Would not buy it again or recommend it for anyone looking for reliable internet connection while on a cruise. Coverage is limited to only certain parts of the ship at LTE speed (insufficient to stream). It worked only when I was outside or sitting inside by a window. The Ship’s Skylink WiFi (more expensive) works throughout the ship; even in your cabin. I purchased the Gigsky America’s plan hoping to use it on part of a 14 day cruise sailing from NYC to Halifax to St. Pierre to St. John’s (and continuing to Iceland). The Gigsky connection was unreliable; the connection was dependent on where I was on the ship. In the end, I ended up buying the cruise ship’s Starlink internet service. The instructions on how to connect are also incomplete. For example, nowhere does it say that to connect through Gigsky one has to (1) turn off airplane mode) and (2) turn off WiFi (before turning on the Gigsky eSIM). It was not until after repeated frustrating emails to Gigsky customer service that I was given this information. On the positive side was communicating with customer service; very good. They respond quickly and try to help with connectivity issues. That said, it was very frustrating because I was rarely connected. Gigsky also does not state anywhere on their website that on cruise ships, the Gigsky connection works only when you are out on the ship’s promenade or outside by the pool. As stated earlier, in order to connect, i had to be sitting by a window; it fid not even Connect when si was outside on my balcony. My cruise took me from the Americas to Europe. My intention was to buy the Gigsky in the Americas plan to test (as this was my first experience withGigsky) before buying the second Gigsky’s Europe cruise ship plan for an additional $55. Because of the unreliability of the Gigsky connection, I will not buy the Gigsky cruise ship plan for Europe. If you just want connectivity while on land, Gigsky does work ON LAND. However, because my U.S. carrier providesd international roaming for free, I did not need Gigsky. I purchased the cruise ship plant to use while at sea. Bottom line: Buy the cruise ship’s more expensive Starlink unlimited plan; it’s reliable. Gigsky cruise ship plan connected only when outside or sitting by a window). If their service improves, I may again give it another try.

J'avais utilisé Gigsky au Costa Rica l'année dernière et cela fonctionnait plutôt bien. Cependant, je suis récemment allé au Portugal et la vitesse d'Internet était terriblement lente… quand cela fonctionnait. Même avec un excellent signal cellulaire. J'ai finalement changé pour Ubigi. Un peu plus cher mais au moins les performances étaient excellentes.

Used it in Balkan. Serbia: worked great. North Makedonia: worked great except from Ohrid where there were some dips in connection. Albania: worked great. So overall very satisfied.

After reading the blurb I felt convinced to pay more so as to get coverage in East Africa. Very poor. Why make promises you can't keep? In major locations- ie right now I am at Zanzibar Airport using unsecured free WIFI - absolutely nothing. I'd like a refund.

Worked super well! Used it in Germany, was very easy to set it up and reliable through the whole journey.
