When buying a combo washer/dryer take…note of the possibility of water hammer in your home's pipes.

When buying a combo washer/dryer take note of the short 7 day no questions asked return window offered by GE Appliances. These types of washer/dryer combos are notorious for creating water hammer in your pipes if they are vulnerable to this. If you don't think you can satisfactorily resolve the problem return the washer/dryer quickly and try a different product.

Communication was good

Communication was good. Delivery of parts was good. Ordering while actually speaking with them to make sure I was ordering the correct parts was good. One part was back ordered 2 months, ordered someplace else. When I received all the parts, I put them together and tried them out. This was a replacement of a GE PROFILE gas burned head, base and attachment screws. When I put the new burner on, I tried to turn it on. The spark sparked, but the gas would not ignite. Had to manually light the new burner. To my surprise, the problem I had with the old burner persisted, only the new burner would not only not light, but half the head had no flame. Had to jiggle it a few times to get it to fully ignite, but that same side had the same low flame, which is what I hoped the new burner would fix. One week and $70 wasted. Going to contact to see about returns.

Nice appliances- frustrating packaging

Perhaps this a general comment for the appliance industry in general, but here goes. It is NOT NECESSARY to embed the "protective plastic film" into the actual frame of an appliance. If you are considering ways to reduce your plastic usage, start here. Sure, the new fridge and dishwasher I bought are fingerprint resistant BUT they both require a razor blade and my good tweezers to gouge the plastic film out of the door frames. Does that really make sense? Also it takes about an hour to get all the broken bits and pieces out. The most frustrating part is front and center on the refrigerator water dispenser. There is no hiding the leftover plastic/terrible mishap that occurred. Why? Just - why? Perhaps the executives should have an appliance delivered by a normal delivery guy who just tears away whatever they grab and leaves whatever is left. If the bosses had to personally work their way around appliances and hope they don't destroy it on day one, they might reevaluate their plastic application. Otherwise, the appliances are beautiful and surprisingly roomy. I love the slate color and I'm thrilled that it's energy star.

Junk GE dryer model # GTD42EASJ2WW

Purchased from Home Depot .1 week after delivery it started dropping screws out . Come to find out the dryer had been dropped although the box was in good shape, service tech came out and order a top for it. he had to straighten out some of the sheet metal with a hammer to be able to put the top on. 8 months later he returned to repair a electrical wire which caused the dryer to stop heating. he spliced a wire instead of replacing the harness and installed another heating element. he also showed me that the drum was warped. We purchased GE because we thought they would take care of the customer. I have requested a replacement of the dryer which We are still waiting on instead of just patching it up. We were upgrading our appliances starting with the washer and dryer. I don't think we will replace the other appliances with GE. Ge don't take care of the customer like they should. With the Chassie warped I don't see this dryer lasting at all. My Wife is afraid to use it. She is afraid it is going to catch the dryer and the house on fire. GE make this right. We didn't buy a used dryer we want a new one that we paid for!!! If only there were 0 stars Well, It seems that all the emails didn't make a difference to the customer service.so on 05/23/23 I found and sent an email to the CEO of GE. I was not expecting a response for a few days but on 05/24/23 one of assistance to the CEO called me. he let me know That they had looked over my complaint and to be expecting a new dryer within the next week, so I do have to raise the star level a bit. They did take care of the situation. Sometimes ya just gotta climb the ladder Huh. so on 06/01/23 a new dryer was received by Myself, and things were looking good. Troy from GE called me on 03/02/23 to see if the delivery had gone as expected. I am more at ease that they do care better of their customers. so I raised the stars to 4. Thanks to Troy at GE has saved a customer. it's just a shame that I had to get the CEOs office before something was done about this. I will raise to 5 stars when I see that the new dryer last at least a year without failing. Thank you, Troy, for your help.
