I love the future app! My coach Matt M has helped me set realistic goals that have had huge positive impacts on my health! With his help I have run my first half marathon!

I tried Future for about 4 months. I had a fantastic coach, but the program didn't work for me - I don't have workout space in my tiny home and I couldn't do many of the exercises due to bad knees. The company requires a $200 deposit for the required Apple watch, but haven't returned my deposit nor have they provided the return instructions for the watch. I can't access the app and you can't contact them through their website. This would keep me from trying them again at a later date.

I elaborated on my physical capabilities, challenges, and issues in the first facetime chat. I felt that Future did not take my needs and challenges seriously. Future is suitable for young and fit people, and unfortunately not good for people who might have injury or arthritis or other physical conditions as the trainers cannot customize based on the limitations. It is expensive as it is not as customized. I would have loved to keep the subscription, but the coach's insensitivity caused a hand injury that I have been dealing with for the last 3-weeks. I wrote them several emails, but other than basic courtesy, I did not see a response that would indicate that they would do anything to change. It seems they have enough happy young people and do not care for others. Unless they strategize to sell to only their target market, it will bite them eventually. Good luck to Future. I might report to BBB.

Cool idea and app. If you can afford spending some extra time on some back and forth communications and are generally healthy with no past injuries than I would say give it a go. The platform/service/programming still has a long way to go....it is a shame Future does not have a vehicle for receiving feedback on the app. Here are the issues I had: 1. My coach did not pay attention to details which required me to repeat myself and keep correcting him. Examples would be - He gave me workouts on days I specifically told him I can't do workouts on. He included equipment in the workouts that I don't have after I sent him a video of the equipment I do have. When I pointed those things to him, there was no accountability and he did not bother to make the changes in the app as I requested over and over again.... 2. it is nice to hear motivational recordings like "let's do this!" or "way to finish the day strong!", and my coach is a nice person, but that is hardly worth $150. There was no added value to having a personal virtual trainer. Examples - he did not give me any feedback on my performance (even though he has plenty of information available to him). He did not explain why he was giving me certain workouts and exercises (so as far as I know there is no rhyme of reason to anything..).He did not address any nutritional aspects. I have acquired zero knowledge about best practices for myself. Worst of all - I actually had to bring to his attention the fact that I am working on the same muscle groups on consecutive days without recovery. He changed it after I mentioned it, but did not admit to making a mistake. No accountability whatsoever. 3.The app itself still has a lot of technical glitches like workout with no instructional videos. instructions that does not match the video you are seeing. timers jumping ahead on their own... The user does not have the ability to edit things on their own either. So if your coach doesn't correct their mistakes, there is nothing you can do about it. The app does not come with any type of manual either so you have to figure everything out on your own, and I would not say it is super intuitive. It has some cool features but you may not find out about them... 4. There is no feedback vehicle - am I suppose to be the one "training" my trainer and improving their performance? You would think Future will realize that it can get awkward for a user to criticize a coach to his face and will put some mechanism in place to collect users feedback and deliver it to their coaches anonymously.

The app is actually pretty good. My trainer would not remove high impact functional fitness from my workouts. I have a hip injury and cannot do jump squats. Finally I relented one day when 2 of the 3 workouts in the app for the week were high impact. I injured my groin and had to go to the ortho. Maybe the trainers are too busy to actually customize it? I had very few check in meetings, no nutritional support, and when I requested over and over to have things changed out I was told that they do that on Sunday. Going to try either caliber or just pay a trainer for programming at this point. I just wanted to lift weights — like bench, squat, deadlift — and they couldn’t seem to provide that. They also only gave me 3 workouts per week for 45 minutes of which 15-20 minutes were cardio instead of the format I would have preferred.
