While they list the ability to process a Sch K-1 (Form 1065) it's limited. For example if box 20 has a AA or AG code. Also some codes required additional forms to be filed which they can not handle. In my case they presented me the IRS PDF for and IRS instructions. You will not be able to efile your return when this happens. I had to jump back to my H&R software to knock out my tax return. Excluding my K-1 both FreeTaxUSA and H&R showed the same results on due/refund. I do like the ability to jump directly to a form with FreeTaxUSA.

I used the site for years but be careful if you relocate, the site becomes more complicated to use. They will save your previous state and you must delete it BEFORE filing or you will be charged for the filing of BOTH states (your new and old one) and no you can't delete it through an amendment. Who knows could cost a huge refund from your new state, i think its wrong that they refused to refund me, I think this is my last year using the site.

This is what it says on the IRS website. Somewhere there is a disconnect between FreeTaxUSA and the rest of the online world. FreeTaxUSA you might want to talk to your Marketing Department about this and either make the correct changes so tax payers aren't mislead, honor the deal they came to your website to redeem until they do so. I could see if only one person said they were told that it would be free, maybe it was a mistake but when multiple people are saying that it was supposed to be free and then you want to hold their tax forms hostage basically until they pay isn't a business practice I'd ever want consider. Its not right. I used FreeTaxUSA for the first time this year. When compared to its competitors, I found it very easy to navigate and very affordable. My tax return has been accepted and I hope the process remains as smooth as it has been. I definitely recommend it.

Longtime turbotax user here. Until yesterday. I jumped the turbotax ship at the eleventh hour (everything was input, I was all set to file despite being somewhat aghast at the steadily increasing service fee). My buddy sent me a text saying he finished filing. I asked what service he used. He said freetaxusa for 14.99. I immediately hopped on board and found it to be a friendly, seamless interface, all my numbers lined up with turbotax. Very glad I found freetaxusa. By the time I bailed on turbotax, the fee had reached nearly $180.
