Worked for me!

After reading all the reviews below I was so worried my order would be a disaster and given the money I had spent (they aren’t cheap!) I panicked. However my experience was the complete opposite to the below. I’m in the UK and I received the first part of the order the day after I placed the order and the rest a week later, the quality of the clothes is next level and I will 100% be ordering again. I love their unique pieces and have to say I received emails with updates about my order. Perhaps they have sorted out their customer experience ? Anyway I wanted to share my experience.

Sadly I had a very bad customer service…

Sadly I had a very bad customer service experience with Free People. I purchased the infamous Hot Shot onesie on the 17th or March 2023, it arrived on the 23rd of March. Upon washing it on the 18th of April I contacted the customer service to complaint that the colour of the onesie completely changed in 1 single wash. I was appalled by the answer I received from 3 different customer service rappresentative!! They all said that since I had purchased the product over 30 days ago (32 days to be exact!!) they could not offer me a replacement, or a refund! Only a partial refund of 20%! I pointed out that the UK Consumers Act 2015 clearly states that any product that presents a fault within 6 months of purchase, can be returned for a replacement, refund or repair. They are basically breaking the law by not allowing customers to return faulty products! They were not interested at all in what I was saying. I then decided to call their customer service, and a 4th customer service rappresentative finally offered me a replacement for the faulty onesie. A product that costs £70 should have a longer warranty than 30 days! I was very keen to purchase more onesies from them but this bad customer service experience changed my mind, I already ordered 2 more things from their website but I’ll return them immediately and I will recommend to everyone to avoid this company. Mixed experiences

Free People seem to get a very bad rep on here, and whilst I do understand this, I thought I should talk about my experience to try and least help to redress the balance somewhat. I’m a new customer to FP this year, spent a load of money already. First thing, I made an order both outside of my account (so the order didn’t show up on my order history) and I made an error in my email address so both of these issues were my error. I contacted customer services through the chat and they dealt with the issue immediately. I received my first few orders very quickly, I was actually quite impressed with the speed. The next couple of orders were taking slightly longer. I rang customer services to enquire on the hold up and they advised that my order was on hold because they had recorded that I had made an order beforehand, asked for a refund and they didn’t receive the item which certainly was not the case. My name is very unusual, and the likelihood of someone else having my exact name is slim. I explained this to the customer service agent and she immediately released my order, of which I have received one of the items and the other is on the way. Of what I have ordered, I love the pieces, they are really beautiful and I have enjoyed wearing them. Where I agree with other customers is the backorder issue. On the website, FP will state (against some items) that the item cannot be shipped straight away, and that’s fine. But when I ordered a top, it was only after I bought it that it said I wouldn’t get it until June. Whilst this isn't really acceptable, I don’t have a terrible issue with this, it’s not urgent but if something isn’t in stock it shouldn’t be on the website until it’s available to be shipped immediately. I bought the top knowing that there may be delays so I was prepared for it but I didn’t think it would be that long. I think Free People is a great brand with a unique style which is very appealing to their target market, but FP will lose potential customers if they aren’t more transparent about their shipping issues no-one should be waiting 2 months for their order to be sent to them. For this reason I’m reducing my rating to 3.5 stars, that and the fact that I think some of their clothes are quite overpriced. So my experienced is mixed, some parts awesome and some areas not so - lots of room for improvement Free People. And I do think you should be seeing these reviews and responding to them, as difficult as that may be. Image, efficiency, reliability is everything as a business.

Excellent all round service!

I decided to buy my wife a pair of summer shoes that they liked and they were being sold via FreePeople.com. I know she had used them in the past so thought nothing of it until I read the reviews which to be fair were pretty awful. I was going to cancel my order but soon after ordering I received confirmation that my order had been processed and would soon be despatched. As such I decided to hold my nerve and again I soon got notification that had been shipped and would be delivered via Royal Mail. Again, based on other reviews, I was not 100% sure if the item would be received as hoped but within days of the email confirmation the shoes arrived. Again value for money is subjective but the quality seems to be very good and my wife is really happy. Normally I wouldn't take the time to post reviews but I felt that I needed to provide some balance to the recent poor reviews.
