Chairish Tracking Order Status

I have sold and bought hundreds of paintings here, all very fast delivered and very good customer service. Very good price on the items

I bought 7 peices1960s China on Chairish, and I paid the shipping fee. When I received the package on December 8th, I found two pieces are broken, totally shattered. They were horribly at packing, like packed two china together with a big gap, and stacked two big platters! I called them and they sent me an email to ask photos. I sent them back the photos last Friday December 9th. And I have not heard from them since, but the order status has changed to "Returned". I'm so confused, they told me to hold the package, how could it be returned? It seems like it's easy to purchase items from them, but once it has issues they are not good at fix it. So frustrated. If this is how they got 4.4 ave from 27662 verified reviews on the website, I will not buy stuff from them anymore. 12/27/2022 update: after few emails and many phone calls with only one got answered(and their voicemail was full). Charish had refunded me on 12/16/2022 to my original payment and let me keeping all the vintage china. It seems fair, so I’m going to give them 3 stars. But I would NOT recommend them at all, especially if you are going to buy fragile or expensive stuff from them. It was extremely stressful once there is a problem.

The website is easy to use and the bidding and purchasing process is very straightforward. But the timing and communication regarding shipping is horrendous. I purchased a piece of furniture in Miami on September 1 and it still hasn’t been delivered and I really have no idea when it will be. I keep emailing customer service and the shipper and am told it is coming. But yet it doesn’t. The site states 3-6 weeks for delivery and possibly longer for remote locations, which Miami and Houston are not. 9 weeks and counting.

Chairish is hit or miss and has great sellers and also, really lousy sellers. It pays to be an informed buyer and know what you’re looking at. I only shop local on Chairish.. but even that can be hellish ( rhymes sorta? ) if the seller does not deliver if even only 20 miles away. In that instance you must opt for Chairish “ in-house ” shipping “ partner “ Uship ..which itself is just a clearing house platform for shipping companies and truckers. Think the Uber of shipping and you have Uship. Really anybody with a pickup can bid to “ship” your prized find . And you will be waiting weeks for it just as if it was coming from states away not just 20 miles away. If it all possible try to deal with the seller directly but Chairish makes that impossible because you’re not supposed to share your personal contact information with the seller even after you’ve purchased it in some cases. I really don’t recommend shopping here unless you see something that you have to have and you have the patience of Job to wait for it

Reading other reviews of Chairish made me nervous *after* I had made an offer on a item. I wanted to come back and leave a review because my entire experience with Chairish was positive. I suppose one's customer service experience depends much on the seller. My initial offer was rejected and my credit card charge was handled exactly as they said it would be. I accepted the counter offer after considering it for about a week or so. The shipping charges for my item were very high, but under the circumstances I don't think I could have arranged shipping by myself for less cost. The seller in my case was a small non-profit without the resources to package up and arrange shipping on their own, and in the end I was happy to support them while acquiring a very unique item. I was lucky to find the item and I'm sure my family will enjoy it through generations. The item was delivered to me on the same evening it was shipped, days after the purchase. What I would call a courier service drove from Raleigh to Pittsburgh and delivered the item wrapped in moving blankets. The carrier allowed me as much time as I needed to inspect the item for any damages. Ultimately the item arrived exactly as described in the Chairish description. I would order from Chairish again based on my first experience - so don't read these reviews and expect the worst.
