Buuks UK Tracking Order Status

Bought a book on Sunday, received it on Wednesday. No problems no issues. I didnt sign up to the membership, I bought a the higher price as I did not want to pay a monthly membership. It is very clear there are two options, one is 'membership price' second is 'non-membership' So all the negative reviews about being 'tricked' into a membership is untrue, they clearly didn't purchase the correct option!

I ordered a book on 28/08/2023 and have had to email customer services multiple times. It is now 12/01/2024 and still have not received my book. The only good thing is that customer services are polite. As for the membership "scam", it should be pretty obvious that you are joining a membership if you are paying attention to what you are doing.

I'm not sure how other reviewers manage to miss the fact that there's a monthly membership charge, it's very clearly stated all over the website from the home page onwards, and when you select a book for your basket it clearly has 2 options - the lower "member price", which involves accepting the monthly membership cost, or the higher "normal price". Right next to the membership price it explains again that you need to sign up for the monthly charge to buy it for this price. It tells you once again when you go to check out your purchases. It's not "small print" at all, it's everywhere. You can cancel any time, so you can just sign up for a month if you want, and then cancel very easily. It's very clear and I don't think it's fair so many people are giving 1 star reviews because they managed to miss something very obvious. If you are looking to buy several books it's a fantastic service, you can save so much money. I find I can get a bunch of brand new books for the same/less cost (including the membership cost) as buying battered second hand copies from ebay, and way less than Amazon etc. I've had a couple of deliveries from them and I'm really happy with them. I think people are angry with themselves for not reading the details displayed all over the place, and taking it out on the website! Very unfair.

I bought a massive haul of about 30 books a few years back WITH the 15 monthly membership as I still saved roughly £100 from retail price! With free delivery and they were here within 2 days. I then cancelled my membership on their site no need to call or email just cancel membership from my account. No harm no foul For all of these reviews saying they did not know they were signing up for a subscription they obviously didn't read anything while checking out as you have to click that you are signing up to a membership and all the books have membership and non membership prices on them. It literally says 'When you shop at the member price, you also create a membership. ' It's not theft or scam its simply cheaper books for a membership price of £15 a month which you can cancel anytime.

i dont understand how people werent aware of the membership fee- its posted right on the homepage, says "members price" under each cheaper price label and you have to accept the membership before completing transaction. Its similar to how you can become members of supermarkets for cheaper prices. Its well worth the fee if you are buying more than a few books- you can immediately cancel the membership after buying which was very easy to do.
