Frankly, quite shocked that one had to buy food and drink on an almost 5-hour flight from LHR T5 to Cairo (Flight 384 on 3rd May, 2023) that was anyway more than an hour late. Is this not long-haul? My wife suggested that I need to be more canny and confirm what one gets during the booking process, but actually, in future, my first choice after this latest debacle anyway won't be to choose to fly with BA at all. What the hell is going on at BA that you have pay for food and drink on a 5 hour flight that departs as late as it did and that someone at BA wasn't even savvy enough to offer up snacks and drinks for free as a peace-offering. BA used to be an automatic first choice I didn't mind paying a little extra for, but how has BA slipped so badly that a frequent traveller like me will now actually look first at Egyptair for my next trip to Cairo or perhaps a budget airline where I'd have known I'd have to buy my own food but saved more than 100 pounds per person ?

Flight BA114 from New York to London. Flight was packed and I was in a middle seat and a middle row on economy. Service: Average Seats : uncomfortable Legroom :disgraceful Food : terrible Comfortable: I couldn't eat my meal because the lack of shoulder room . This flight is like flying low cost on a 7 hour flight. I arrived home that I had back problems and a migraine. To make it worse my flight from London to Pisa was also delayed. If you can avoid flying BA avoid them they are an awful company . The flight over with American airlines was 100% better . Unfortunately I had to fly BA .

Flight from Munich to London. We upgraded to business, for a treat for four of us. We got in Business checking line, which was open. The agent checked in a couple of people for our flight. Then stopped the check in to allow a earlier flight to check in some pasengers ( people runing late). Then the started checking in people from economy onto our flight. A number of us had to wait 50 minutes before they reopened the business checkin. That act was done with a grunt. Agent had no jacket or name badge- but economy agent did. Once onboard - back to excellent service and flight arrived a minute early. All of us in business were wondering why we paid extra for business class then be treated so badly.
