Sadly Blenheim Palace fleece loyal…

Sadly Blenheim Palace fleece loyal annual pass customers by charging them parking and fees for getting tickets to the palace at this time of year at any reasonable time. In addition to this there is a £2.50 handling charge, a £1 charity donation - it isn't a donation as you have no ability to remove it, in addition £10 to park - all for people who have already paid for an annual pass. In addition annual pass holders can only visit at certain times and not on weekends running up to Christmas - meaning of Christmas for the exceedingly rich Blenheim = profit, profit and....oh yes profit :-(. In addition no real thought to people with gluten allergies/coeliac, but if you are vegan, there is plenty of choice. Sadly I want gluten free with dairy. Very very expensive as you pay so much for food, more for rides, plus, plus for anything on top of just walking around. Such a shame Blenheim has taken this route of trying to get more and more out of people whose support they have had for years. The grounds are beautiful, the palace lovely and Neverland lovely for kids, food plentiful if you don't have allergies but expensive. In summary, such beautiful nature, architecture and variety of things to do (most at extra cost), but goodness you pay for it!!!! I remember in COVID Blenheim understandably closed for a few months, but oh no - they didn't extend the annual pass for that amount of time. As might be clear from this review....feeling a bit cross at Blenheim's greed mentality and lack of anything relating to the true meaning of Christmas.

We were charged an extortionate £12 for parking.

We were charged an extortionate £12 for parking even though we had already paid for a yearly ticket. The gatehouse attendant said it was because "We are celebrating Christmas!" On arrival at the main building we were sent back to book up a time slot. After waiting in a long queue to do this we were told we had to pay a £2.50 fee and a £1 donation. The market stalls were boring and very expensive. The cuttlery in the cafe was filthy and tables were not cleared quickly enough. The food was very expensive but very nice. The themed display indoors was excellent as was the light display on the trail round the lake. The Churchill rooms are very interesting and there are great walks around the grounds. OK but spoilt by an atmostphere of greed.

I visited Blenheim Palace in July with my elderly mum

I visited Blenheim Palace in July with my elderly mum. She is in a wheelchair and the staff were so helpful. The man driving the little shuttle around the car park stopped right at my car as I was getting her wheelchair out. He suggested I leave it and use one of theirs. He drove us to the entrance where I sorted this out. It was raining and a team member stood with my mum and held an umbrella over her and chatted with her. We missed our garden tour on the little shuttle bus as we'd been held up by traffic, but a very lovely lady did her best to get us on another tour as we'd already paid. I think her name was Heather and she was so lovely and kind to me and my mum. Unfortunately, there was no room for us on another tour, so we missed out. The staff operating the lifts for disabled people were so happy to help as were the staff at the office where you get the wheelchairs and mobility scooters. We really enjoyed our visit and I didn't have to worry about my mum not being able to see things as the staff were so helpful. If you are concerned about being able to get around the palace and gardens, don't be, as there is always someone willing to help. It's great to see people enjoying their work and just being kind. Thank you.

We went to Blenheim palace in June and…

We went to Blenheim palace in June and had a great day out. Staff at the palace were so helpful and accommodating to myself and my husband as we are disabled and were on mobility scooters. Most of the palace was accessible except for the second floor but I understand there are plans to make tha available to mobility users too. The fashion show was on when we went and that was great to see although it did invade the the ability to take photos of some things without getting the fashions in the picture. But it didn’t spoil our visit and we will be going back as ticket lasts a year and you can go as often as you want in that year. Highly recommend going.
