First time ordering online . My package arrived but an item missing .I contacted the company ( by e mail no telephone number) and have been told the item is out of stock , and they will refund me , however it is still showing on the website available to order, and if this is the case why was I not informed and refunded at the dispatch point instead of having to contact them for a refund of the missing piece of fabric ? I have given 2 stars as the fabric I have received is great ,and they did respond to by e mail contact in a timely fashion but I should not have had to contact them at all !

I visited the Birkenhead store this morning. The staff are very helpful but also let you spend time looking at their stock without feeling any pressure to make a purchase. I am so glad to be able to buy wool from a shop where you can feel it rather than on line

Gone to their Greenfield shop for years and the building is so pretty. I've always been happy with their customer service. I think I prefer going in store to going online, the prices and stock are better that way. Plus the building is so nice. My only minor complaint is that it's often not easy to tell things like fibre content. I don't like buying plastic and I've been caught out once or twice, when buying wool, for example. On one occasion a ball of wool had the word "Marino" on it, but it was actually 90% plastic. It would be nice if the fibre content was more easily visible. They are great though with things like dye lots etc. Also I don't like how they package everything in a billion layers of plastic, nowadays we have sustainable options that should be used instead.

During the pandemic I have got out of the habit of going into shops. Thank goodness for Michael Abakhan. The fabrics are great, fantastic value and a fabulous service - speedy. He is my must go to website whenever I want to sew myself something new. Never disappointed.

Abakhan was recommended to me by a friend and I was not disappointed. The fabric was lovely quality & a good price. I particularly liked the fact that I was able to order a sample first so that I could feel the fabric. Excellent service, highly recommend them & will be using them again.
