Serco Caledonian Sleepers – Cashback, Rebates & Rewards

Great experience but so expensive. Would be better if cost in line with other European sleeper train services.

I have used the sleeper numerous times. This time I was upgraded on both journeys to a room with a toilet. That was great!

The sleeper has definitely improved. It's a great way of getting between scotland and London outside usual daytime hours, and infinitely preferable to flying in my opinion. The service can be a bit variable, and if you are getting a berth (I wouldn't use the seated carriage) -some locations are better than others! The new rolling stock could be smoother - that is a real regret - but I think that is UK legislation that is the problem and not the fault necessarily of the Caledonian Sleeper company.

Train service was on time and the staff was friendly. Club accommodations are worth it for much better mattresses and the lounge at Euston is quite nice to wait in. The classic rooms really need better mattresses and including soap at the sink would be useful, the window shade also didn't fully close there, which let in a lot more light. Overall, if your short on time, its a useful and well run service, but would be nicer if they had larger room options and improved mattresses.
