Witchcraft! How did I get smoke flavor in chicken and a smoke ring on ribs with no wood? I just got mine and, from a friend who owns one's advice, I started with half chickens. My wife took a bite and said that the smoke flavor was great. When I told her there was no wood involved, she was blown away. So naturally I had to try ribs next. It's almost too easy. I sent pics to my competition BBQ buddies and they think I'm lying about not using wood. I took a couple of ribs to one of them 2 days later. Without even heating it up, he loved it. He said, "everything I know is a lie" because of the flavor that I got off of Kingsford. Brisket was next. I ended up buying a flat because I couldn't find a full packer that hadn't been hacked to death. It was good, but not great. But, the only issue was that it didn't have the point to add the flavor and the extra fat to render into the meat. I'm going to do a full packer next and I'm sure I'll love it. The flat had great flavor and was cooked well. It was just a little dry because it didn't have the point.

I have definitely enjoyed cooking with it, but it has taken more of a learning curve than anticipated and although the recipes make it seem very straightforward and easy, that has not totally been my experience. My chicken thighs fall off my chicken when its hanging! I do wish it was a bit more versatile..but all this being said, I've made some killer chicken and pork and I know with some experience it will only get better. Overall pleased.

The smoker, with some added accessories, all arrived on time as promised. If you think you would enjoy set and forget smoking and temperature control this is the cooker for you. Turkey was moist and tender. A six pound brisket flat was juicy, tasted superb and was done in four hours.

Took the cooker out of the box and had two racks of ribs on the table for Sunday dinner within six hours including setup. Using their online videos my 11-year old son was able to do most the ribs with my supervision. Family loved the results. I have been a walking advertisement at work today talking with my co-workers.

I was a bit skeptical, but figured I was buying American and from a veteran owned company. I was surprised with the quality of all the parts and the smoker works exactly as advertised. I am having a hard time getting used to not having to make any adjustments or fiddle with the charcoal. I would recommend the cooker to EVERYONE!! My expensive Big Green Egg is not really being used anymore
