I've ordered 4 times so far and 3 of the times the order delivery wasn't even within the window of time they said they'd deliver. Thankfully I'm in a building where there's not much theft issues. All I have to worry about is food spoilage. But customer service is horrible. IF I have a problem they don't ever bother making it right or helping me, they either don't respond until days later or they don't provide anything of help. For example today I just set my order then they send me a coupon saying I can use it but only on this order and only if I order on the set date I have for the upcoming order. So I go in and ask the bot on the chat how to add in the coupon code. It tells me I have to cancel the order and start over again to add a coupon, it can't be done retroactively. So, no worries. I go in and deactivate the order and figure it'll be no problem to just redo the order. I still had until 3pm to submit the order for a monday delivery. Well, I find out that the order got cancelled but it also shows me that since I "skipped this weeks order I can't order again til a different day. What? I didn't say I was skipping this week, I was cancelling what was in my shopping cart. It never mentioned the phrase skipping a week at all ever during that process until I try to go in and recreate the order. So I write CS for help and of course they aren't responding to me and they won't until well after the window when I can submit the order. No delivery this week, no capacity now to use the coupon code since it was only valid for the monday order which I now can't place. And no apology for anything either. That's the shef way, after all. The answer is always we can't make it right for you, and oh well... Like others say, it's a nice concept, and the food I've gotten is good. But their CS and delivery sucks. I'd give them 0 stars if I could for both those.

I placed a meal subscription order that included 6 main dishes and 4 sides. This is Indian food so the main dish is a curry and the side is bread/rice that's necessary for a meal. They delivered the wrong side dishes. I reached out to customer support that takes hours to respond. I told them I wanted what I actually ordered because the main dishes need a side and I cannot eat them with the side that was given to me. They were of no help. Said the best they can do is refund what I paid for the sides. But that doesn't help me because all my mains are ruined.

My complaint is for for the delivery service Dragonfly that they use - I signed up to for a route to deliver Shef meals - I agree with other reviews no way to contact anyone not even Dragonfly to dispute payment for hours worked for delivery. I have emailed an email address twice with no response - phone number for contact does not reply to messages - I completed every order for delivery in time told to customers and was shorted payment and did not receive any tips - which I am sure you can tip for delivery as a customer - the company keeps the tips so they are paying very little to have meals delivered and then to not be paid correctly for my time is insulting! I will never personally order from this site based in this experience.

Shef Murray cooked without much salt and that’s what my doctor ordered. And all 3 dishes were fabulous. I’ll be back for more! So very good!! Thanks Patsy Fleming

I absolutely love Shef, and am so grateful to be able to order homemade and delicious food from members of my local community. All of the food I have ordered so far has come exactly as planned and has been so delicious! I especially love that the cuisines of so many countries and regions are represented. I spent a couple of years living in South India and really miss the food. I have been able to get amazing South Indian dishes that I just can’t find in restaurants, even in a big city like Los Angeles. I highly recommend Shef - it’s a great service, the food is fantastic and a great value, and the mission and impact to the community is positive and inspiring!
