Staff helpful and happy brilliant weekend at the Motown and kirstys joke about the fly went down like a lead balloon but kirst I laughed see you all in may

So this was our second holiday park during the school holidays. Our first was to Seal Bay in Selsey (formerly Bunn Leisure). We’d seen all the negative comments and this allowed us to arrive with an open mind fully expecting the worst (no surprises) the litter, the run down park from the 60’s and the hot show room etc..and to just try and make memories as a family. We arrived on a Monday which is also check out day for some. On arrival the park does look weathered and in need of some TLC (lick of paint, grass verges pruned - colourful plants) and there was litter everywhere BUT this is mostly down to the lazy people staying here who simply can’t be bothered to treat the park with respect and put things in the bins, which are everywhere so there isn’t any excuse for littering. All rubbish that had been blown around was collected by the team of litter pickers walking around the site. Making it look very clean ready for those checking in. We was staying in Club apartment (zone 2) and it was lovely and clean. Which was a fear of mine but the staff had done a very good job. We was also half board and I was expecting the food to be repetitive and bland for the week and we were pleasantly surprised to see that every night had a different menu. The breakfast is what you expect to have with your full English, cereal and yoghurts but the food of an evening was delicious. Compliments to the chef. Even my fussy eaters wolfed down their dinners. The arcade was never too busy and my kids enjoyed the different games to occupy them - my favourite was the duck racing game - best way to win lots of tickets :) In the arcade you can also see what entertainment is on throughout the week and we made sure we made use of this. We paid extra to have breakfast with the Croc Crew and a VIP party (£5 a ticket was well worth it). We took part in quizzes, painting and watched wrestling during the day. Staff always friendly and polite and on hand to assist with any machine issues. The beach is a 5-10 minute walk away and is a lovely sandy beach and was very busy and there is places to eat and drink. The evening at Pontins is VERY hot (My legs swelled up by the end of the holiday) BUT we expected this to be the case and wore light loose clothing however I hope Pontins will look into this as it does deter people from staying and enjoying the Bluecoats entertainment which was fantastic (Liam is a cracking singer!). The bar lady was on her feet all night and worked mostly alone - I think she deserves more credit than some of the comments I read on here. We always got served pretty quickly and watched the acts from the queue no problems. They all work so hard and made the holiday. Forget the rubbish, forget the dated buildings, forget the heat - the Bluecoats provided the memories which is all my girls will ever remember from this holiday. The characters (Croc Crew) all have fresh clean costumes - they was immaculate and not tatty or run down and the booked acts provided of an evening were brilliant - we loved Top Hat and Heels and the Wolcott Band! The swimming pool was clean and tidy. One review said they couldn’t see the bottom of the pool ?! I think they must have had a sleep mask on. As pool was clear and my kids loved it although we only managed one visit as we was busy with the Bluecoats entertainment. Mark T the manager does a fantastic job and all his staff work ever so hard to provide us with a great holiday experience. As a family we had a much better time here in Pontins compared to Seal Bay which we found the entertainment to be very repetitive and boring - no outside acts just Seal Bay staff doing the shows. The Bluecoats made our little holiday and gave us lots of memories and I’d rather return here than go Seal Bay for a 7th of the price. See you in 2023! Perry, Michelle, Paige & Evie

Cheap and cheerful if you want somewhere and not expecting 5* its the place for u it's brilliant for a little get away staff are great from Dan and the team, security, cleaners all are brilliant

Pontins Camber Sands has been a revelation. Not been to a Pontins in years and given the reviews a little concerned at what to expect...well if your a glas half full than half empty person, then should be no issues. It is a cheap, cheerful break, by a wonderful beach, with plenty to do for the kids. However I'm sure the park has seen better days, does require a lick of paint, there seemed to be a distinct lack of program of activities for the children. On the plus side, the staff are amazingly friendly, everyone we came across seemed genuinely passionate about their job and provide a good service. The beds and sofa bed, are not the most comfortable but will do if you use it as a base just for sleeping. The kitchen is very basic and just enough if you fancy doing a quick meal. The bathroom seems to be updated, but no shower head or mixer, old style single hot and cold taps. Cleanliness does leave a lot to be desired and given Covid should be improved. If anything try it, make your own mind up and you just might discover a gem. For the family great getaway. Customer Service - on the phone seem to be on form and very helpful if you have any questions or queries.

So just to clarify, i dont work here, i have never worked here, i dont know any of the pontins staff personally and as someon else said, no i dont have social services after me for enjoying my getaways. So What can I say, I really love pontins camber sands, I know so many people slate them and complain about the most stupid of things, I've taken a lot of freinds there with me and they have always expected the worst, when they have got they have been surprised at how nice the rooms really are. I go 4 times a year to the themed weekends, 70's/ 80's and 90's/ 00's, they have great acts, great entertainment and all for a reasonable rate, the atmosphere is electric and I have made so many life long freinds there. All I say is give it a chance, have a look, don't go in glass half empty, look at the bigger picture, it's a cheap getaway, if jts a little untidy then do as my nan always said, put on a smile and look on the brightside.
