I’ve needed to use the Interrail help facility a couple of time with queries about using the pass. The human team are speedy, responsive and give very clear replies, much more so than many online helpdesks. I’d have given five stars if the bot had been able to help. My queries were difficult to summarise for the bot (though the humans understood straight away). I’m guessing a lot of other queries are like this- it’s a complex system- it would be nice to have the option of going straight to a human being

Fast and friendly customer service, even on a sunday afternoon

I am putting together a seven week trip to Europe. My husband and I plan to ride the trains for it, using EuRail passes. At our age ( in our 70s) using the website or app is complicated for booking train reservations. But when I reach out via email to contact Eurail directly to help me, their responses are darn fast, lengthy, detailed and very easy to follow. Accurate! Makes navigating all of these train trips possible!

William was extremely helpful and sorted my IT glitch very quickly. I can now plan my trip with my fellow travellers. Thank you.

Fantastic! We've just returned from using Interrail in Switzerland and had one of the best holidays ever. I like the way you can choose your journeys the night before or over breakfast, and just save it to your trip. The planner is very useful and will even tell you which platform the train leaves from. We didn’t need to reserve seats, which gave extra freedom, but you can if you wish. (Bear in mind that reservations are compulsory on some trains, such as TGVs in France and the panoramic trains.) Here are some tips I would like to pass on from our experience: - 1. Make sure you have your passport with you. Every ticket inspector we met (and they were on every train we used) asked for ID 2. Make sure you have a suitable adaptor for charging your phone - you can't show your ticket if your phone's dead! Be wary in Switzerland where mains sockets are different to the rest of Europe, including sockets on Swiss trains 3. Still regarding Switzerland, check if your mobile phone provider covers it, as it's not in the EU. Mine would not, and I couldn't get internet unless in a hotel with WiFi. (My phone would not accept an e-Sim). The app still works off-line, but you won't be able to book seats. 4. Make sure you do go on line at least every 3 days. The app doesn't work "in the background" ie you need to open the app even if you don't intend to use it. 5. As we didn't book seats, we paid a little extra and went 1st Class, which meant we always got a seat and plenty of room to move about to take photos. Once you get the hang of it, it's simple and great fun to use. Thank you, Interrail, we can't wait to use you again. PS Interrail is not just for students on gap years! We are both over 75 and loved using it PPS If you have questions they are very easy to contact. I asked a couple of (silly) questions and had very polite and useful answers within minutes. Very impressed! Bon Voyage
