Gave 1 star because -1000 stars isn’t an option. Worst conceivable experience: bought the most expensive policy, and was glad because my trip was delayed four days due to catastrophic weather at the destination. I was so grateful I had insurance..,until I filed my claim. Thousands of pounds were lost due to the delay. We were granted £90 in total settlement and assured that we were not entitled to anything else, Essentially, the price of the policy was refunded. GET YOUR COVERAGE SOMEWHERE ELSE. WHATEVER YOU THINK YOU’RE BUYING, YOU’LL GET NOTHING IF YOU HAVE TO CLAIM. ALL THEY REALLY WANT IS YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS, WHICH THEY CAN THEN SELL.

Don't waste your time or money. I haven't even had a response from them regarding needing help after easyjet cancelling our flight and leaving us abroad with 2 young children. What is the point of an insurance you can't rely on when you are stuck?

I've used Explorer Travel Insurance for several years and like most insurance companies, you don't really know how good they are until there is an issue. I must say that Bobby Aherne (Complaints Officer for the insurers) is fantastic and is a credit to the company. As a result of the customer service received from Bobby, I will be using Explorer Travel Insurance again in the future.

Just made claim for medical expenses around £500 from a cruise ship trip and paid out without any problem less the excess as per policy, no problem.

Myself and my wife have used Explorer Travel Ins on many occasions and have always found them to be very competitive on price.However, the true worth of any insurance company is when they have too pay out.Unfortunately last year we had too make a medical claim.On returning home we contacted Explorer and after, I assume, they contacted our Doctor to make make sure we were not trying to pull a fast one, "as many people do these days" they were very helpful and paid our claim quickly. We are using Explorer again this year and would not hesitate in recommending them.I would add that the claim was for private Medical attention whilst on a cruise ship.
