I'm very surprised to read the reviews I have about expedia AU. I've been using Expedia since early 2019 and have booked dozens and dozens of trips through them over the years including flights, hotels, hostels, car hires, tours, activities and everything else. Both domestic and international. I've never had an issue. Even getting money back during covid wasn't too much of a hassle. I've read the reviews about the customer service being terrible but in my experience, it's the best part. I've had to change or cancel things often and expedia help team have found a way to help everytime. I recommend them to everyone I know or, I just book through expedia myself for the whole group if I'm travelling with friends. My personal experience with expedia has been absolutely fantastic.

Amazing experience with them, had issues with my booking to WA when borders closed. They helped cancel my flight and hotel bookings with no issues at all. Thanks

We honestly couldn't fault Expedia. We had about 12 hotel bookings in the North East USA that we had to cancel due to covid. Expedia emailed us a list of the bookings and offered 110% credit or a full refund on each booking even though our bokings were 'non-refundable'. Given it's unlikely we'll be travelling to the US any time soon, we took full refunds. Every other cost component of our trip was difficult to retrieve through various travel related suppliers and airlines, but Expedia were the only company that were pro-active and made first contact with us. It was so nice to deal with a company who was prepared to look ahead for longevity in these tumultuous times and we will definitely without hesitation use them again for all our hotel bookings when the US boarders are open to Australia.

They cancelled my bookings within seconds of me booking. Multiple times. Yet won't refund me any of the booking fees. Refuse to talk any sense to me, they just keep copy and pasting the same lines over and over, and telling me to message or email them, which I have a million times and have been doing for nearly 3 weeks. I'm getting no where. I've tried phoning but after being on hold for an hour or two they hang up on you. I will never ever use Expedia again, and I suggest everyone else books with other companies. Expedia steal your money and the Indians working for them whilst are polite are absolutely no help.

Expedia customer service agents have been absolutely amazing and we can't thank them enough. We booked flights and a hotel to Australia via Hong Kong for my niece's wedding. The day before we were due to fly Typhoon Mangkhut was sadly due to hit the Philippines and Hong Kong and so our flights were cancelled. Nothing was too much trouble for the customer services agents I spoke with. They called me back when promised and contacted Cathay Pacific and secured us a refund. Also, although we booked our hotel (Butterfly on Prat) as non refundable the Expedia agent offered to contact the Hotel on our behalf. Most generously Butterfly on Prat gave us a refund. Thank you so much to everyone involved (Matthew, David, Shavani and Vandana) - we are so grateful especially in the light of the tragedy that the people in the Philippines have endured.
