Always queues at the sites due to staff selling membership at the tills holding everybody up No thought about parking at most sites ie Scarborough castle

My family went to the Richard Ashcroft concert at Englefield House on Saturday 22nd July. It rained all day and had been forecast so we took some umbrellas to try and keep our children dry, (note the venue stipulated on the emails for this concert that no gazebos were permitted). We took 5 umbrellas, 1 of which was brand new and unwrapped at the car before walking to the entrance. When we entered, they checked our tickets and then checked bags and told us we could not take our umbrellas. We asked if we could take them back to the car, but told if we go out, they will not let us back in! They advised if we take a picture, we can leave them securely with them and collect at the end by showing the pictures. What actually happened was they put all of the umbrellas outside the entrance in a big pile and just let people take anything without checking. All of ours, including the brand new, never used umbrella were taken! This was all avoidable if they had said before entering or if when we then asked to take our property back to our secure car, they had let us do so. Very disappointing and all communication with them around this matter! They are completely unprofessional

I joined in May no problem, trying to log in to the members area in order to book tickets is impossible. Very slow website and even unable to reset my password just in case this was the problem! I eventually managed to book tickets without going to the members area. Such a pity.

hi I started the joining process with the web site, this did not go well as the site would not take my payment details. The chat line after a wait for an opprative to become available advised I phoned the customer services but did not supply the number, after along search though the web site I found the number. After a very long wait I spoke to a very nice lady who took my details and payment. how ever I am still waiting for my membership card and number to arrive what should be an easy system became very long winded. Makes me wonder how many people may just give up the process regards Peter

As others have found the enrolment process at English Heritage is a mess. Paid and signed up three weeks ago, but still no card. Going on holiday soon. Telephoned and was tartly told that when the cards are eventually sent they will 'take about ten days to arrive'. TEN DAYS!! What are English Heritage sending their cards out by.. a lame donkey routed via Scotland?? The CEO of English Heritage is paid around £200K a year for delivering up this mess - doubtless another booted and suited halfwit masquerading as an executive. Only in Britain
