English Heritage Membership Tracking Order Status

I joined in May no problem, trying to log in to the members area in order to book tickets is impossible. Very slow website and even unable to reset my password just in case this was the problem! I eventually managed to book tickets without going to the members area. Such a pity.

hi I started the joining process with the web site, this did not go well as the site would not take my payment details. The chat line after a wait for an opprative to become available advised I phoned the customer services but did not supply the number, after along search though the web site I found the number. After a very long wait I spoke to a very nice lady who took my details and payment. how ever I am still waiting for my membership card and number to arrive what should be an easy system became very long winded. Makes me wonder how many people may just give up the process regards Peter

I'm a new member - my cards were apparently sent out on 3rd May, but still not received them. I've phoned them twice to be told to wait a while longer! really?!

Well I joined EH for the first time this year in fact a group of four of us did. We thought it was good value at 25% off. We have already visited two sites and many free ones so nearly reached our costs. Now we are getting on in years but we love technology and the ability to use computers instead of paper. We used to carry a book when we were members of NT many years ago and didn't really expect that now we would have to rely on carrying a book because the technology is so poor. We waited sometime for our book and cards to arrive. But looked forward to experiencing some benefits of membership like members events and news specifically for us. However we've discovered there is "a technical" problem with the membership area of the online site and they couldn't tell me when it would be fixed but that I "didn't need it anyway" (their words not mine) (so why bother having a members area). They didn't understand why the app can't be loaded to my phone because Google play tells me the app was designed for an older android than mine (tried that from a few different approaches it just says the same thing). So sadly it's back to using a book (can't use the fold out map it's so small I can't see it unless I carry a magnifying glass as well). To say I'm disappointed with an organisation that professes to supporting English heritage and then fills the world full of paper is mild. I expected more I guess. Will reconsider my membership for next year now if I don't see improvements and defo can't recommend to others at the moment because apart from saving money after the first three paying sites I visit (I wouldn't get further discount until year 2) I don't see any other benefits. Lots of free sites though they are great..

I made contact by email and then by phone before Easter to ask for a current car sticker, as I had not had one. I was told one would be sent. When it had not arrived by last week I phoned and was told again that one would be sent to me. Nothing has so far arrived. The staff were pleasant and friendly, but I have been a member of English Heritage for many years and expect good service. Three stars for pleasant telephone manners, but none at all for the service.
