Fantastic staff and entertainment

The experience could do with some tweaking, the car park is ridiculous to be able to get your stuff to the cabins, the fact that you have paid so much to stay the night and do not get the added stuff like archery for free seems crazy to me, or extended hours in the castle! The castle is advertised as open until 5 but a lot of stuff was shut up and gone by 4.30 and the walk back to knights village and lugging all the stuff out of car for the distance required with 5 kids was a nightmare! Some of the food at the knights village was terrible, and we paid £22 for a two course carvery with no starters available, we went at about 6.25 and there were no bread rolls left and hardly any soup, the soup left was bland and tasteless. That being said the staff were amazing with dealing with it! The carvery was lovely and the entertainment was superb. The staff working in the castle were faultless and the actors were amazing! Interaction with the children was wonderful and the show’s entertaining! The lodges were lovely, a little overpriced in my opinion but still cute, I do think they are cramped for 7 people! The included breakfast was lovely and more than enough selection Overall I would definitely recommend the experience for the staff and the entertainment. Every member of staff were polite and helpful and many went out of their way to interact with the kids, but the food for kids, knights village starters and little extras for people staying in the castle could do with working on.

Fantastic day out

Fantastic day out Warwick Castle is amazing! Kids love all the Zog areas and Horrible history maze. The shows are fantastic!, with a fantastic stay. The lodges are comfortable with lovely views and clean. Love the treasure hunt and the tranquility. We met Mike, the loveliest receptionist I have ever met, with a wonderful personality.

Downside, the restaurant. Evening meal is overpriced, no choice and food was warm. You’re asked what you want, but you won’t get it. A HUGE disappointment. Kids don’t want starters they puddings, as a mum, I don’t want to have to serve food to the kids off a platter, I want to relax and have their food on plates. menu is a clear as mud and at £23 a head for adults and £13 for kids, totally overpriced, we wanted roast pork and got 1 slice each, which is poor. Chicken was also dumped on the platter, which isn’t what we wanted, so it was wasted and not eaten. The jug of gravy was obscene and would serve 12. Such a waste of food and money. Walk down to town, I’m sure Pizza Express is a better choice.

The food needs an overhaul again as last year’s offerings were even worse.

We will be back and recommend staying, just don’t bother eating here.

Cold food and poor accommodation

Update 13/01/2022. Warwick Castle now just ignoring my emails about the concerns. Very Very Poor.

I booked the Christmas 2 day break with overnight stay in a knights lodge. There are few things to mention that spoiled the trip which was an early present for my 3 year old granddaughter.

The car park is a very long way from the Castle about 20 to 30 minutes walk with no transport being provided. This meant a lot of walking, in all on the first day I walked over 10 miles both to and from the castle and around it. The walk from the car park to the lodge took about 10 minutes with cases and other luggage and had to make 2 trips. Again there is no transport from the car park to the lodges and no way to park the car closer to unload and then return it to the car park.

The main issue however which really spoiled the trip was when we went for the evening meal in the Knights Village Restaurant. The food was cold, the vegetables were overcooked even the gravy was cold. Not one item of food was hot. I went to get some cold drinks and had to step over adults and children sitting on the floor around the drinks machine watching the children's entertainment. This is obviously highly dangerous as I could have tripped spilled drinks on people or even fallen on them. I then found after doing the assault course that the drinks were flat. We left and had to go out of the site to find something to eat elsewhere.

The accommodation wasn't that clean and really wasn't suitable for being able to have 3 adults and 1 child never mind the advertised capacity of 6. There was one 3 seater sofa which had different height cushions on it that meant only 2 people could sit on it.

After raising a complaint I was told the food was the correct temperature which it wasn't and basically called a liar.

Wouldn't recommend this stay at all. Very Very disappointed.
