The purchases I made when the company was called Fandango were lost apparently when they changed their name to VUDU and now all of a sudden I can’t access my account anymore and they are saying that I will have to go buy a roku device to be able to access my account again. The same tv that I have had for years and came with Fandango/VUDO app installed on it.

My account got hacked and someone rented a movie using my PayPal account. Every other online merchant, when you use PayPal, makes you log into your PayPal account for every purchase, which is good security. Nope, not them. After you attach your account, anyone can use it at any time, apparently. Also, HUGE security problem: There is no way to remove your PayPal account yourself from your account. I changed my password and emailed them immediately and asked them to refund me for the fraudulent rental and immediately remove my PayPal from my account. They didn't respond for over a week, and then said they can't refund my money if the video is already watched. I reminded them that I didn't rent it, my account was hacked. Then, highly implying the hack was either internal or they have *terrible* security, a few days after I changed my password, there were two more charges on my account, because they still hadn't removed my PayPal as requested. I emailed them again saying they needed to remove the new charges because it's clearly not my fault that they hadn't removed my PayPal, and asking again for it to be immediately removed. Over a week later they responded, saying pretty much exactly the same thing, but at least they removed my PayPal from my account. They still have not refunded my money, and keep telling me I need to provide like 10 pieces of personal information (so they can sell it to whomever) in order to refund my money. This is clearly ridiculous, as they do not need all that information to refund my money. I even said a credit would be fine, but they won't even do that. Worst customer "service" that I've seen in quite a while, and their security is garbage. If I didn't already have a dozen or so purchased movies on there, I would just cancel my account directly. DO NOT give them any credit card or PayPal information. Do not trust them with anything. If you haven't purchased anything from them, do not use them at all, ever.

Sent vudu proof, they claim there's nothing they can do about it. They are theives. I don't recommend purchasing anything from them!

Vudu- Fandango stole movies from me

Account hacked, Vudu has done nothing for nearly a month.
My account got hacked on Jan 3rd and someone used my account to rent a movie. I immediately changed my password and attempted to remove my payment method (PayPal). Not only do they not offer 2-factor authentication to log in, but they don't even ask for a PayPal login/password when charging the account, like nearly every other website who uses PayPal does, so anyone who can hack my account can use my PayPal to rent movies. I reported the incident immediately and asked them to remove my PayPal account from my payment methods. It's now Jan 27th, and after multiple requests, they still have done absolutely nothing and I now have two more fraudulent movie charges on my account. I have submitted the information requested (information they've had since first contact) multiple times, but they still refuse to act on this in any way. Even after changing my password to something much more complicated, the hackers are still using my account, which implies that it's either an inside job, or they have a pretty serious security flaw somewhere. I recommend nobody use them, or if you must, get them to remove your payment method ASAP and demand that they make it possible for users to delete their payment methods themselves, as I have done.

No Customer Service
I rented "Wings of Desire" and it was in German with no subtitles. I applied for a refund and got a case # and no reply. Escalated to PayPal and they didn't reply to PayPal either. Took me 4 weeks until I got my money back. A silver lining was that Vudu charged $6.99 and I saw it on Prime for only $3.99. What scum!

BAD IDEA
BAD IDEA! buffers freezes have to back out of screen multiple times just to watch a movie or even one 30min episode of a sitcom it spins several times. Even though I've spent several hundred dollars on shows and movies, my paid for (a lot) shows are being moved from my "Continue Watching" are being removed 😡. Also there has been times where I attempt to watch, again, a paid for movie/show & it tells me "Sorry this show can't be accessed right now". I paid for it! 🤬

Vudu used to be great.. Fandango ruined it.
Vudu used to be great, until Fandango purchased it.
Fandango has misleading advertising around its gift cards. The main Fandango site advertises movies at home but the gift cards sold on that same site are not good for fandango at home purchases. Fandango customer service won't exchange or refund the gift card and they are condescending to customers on top of it all.
I'll miss you Vudu - but it looks like its off to Apple TV for my future streaming purchases.

Ripped off for $4.27. How petty
Rented a movie. It did not show up in my library to watch. Reach out for support only a few days later to either reissue the rental or issue a refund. Not unreasonable. They are stuck in about doing neither. How petty to rip somebody off for $4.27.

I have verizon fios and everything in…
I have verizon fios and everything in my home including t.v's are hard wired into ethernet. My speeds are 740mbs down and 720mbs up and still buffers freezes have to back out of screen multiple times to just watch a movie. Its like the a.t&t streaming service i once tried. Vudu was great had no issues with it then now it just garbage.

WISH I HAD CHECKED TRUST PILOT FIRST OMG, they have a 1.4 raging! i never would have used it not ever! omg all we wanted to do was watch a movie. so much bs. wouldnt work. got an email with at least 10 differnt, not easy things to try and do to fix it. no thanx. all i want to do is pay and watch a movie. not have to change browsers, check speeds, ect nope, AND in the end lost my money! wont do that again.its youtube or amazonprime for movies.

Was great as Vudu. Fandango ruined it. Now I can’t watch MY movies that I OWN anywhere I want. Bunch of commie dictator clowns running the show now. ZERO stars. Customer service was useless. I’m traveling for vacation and wanted to watch one of MY movies. They said you can’t outside of the US. It’s my property. Fix it.

Was good but once FANDANGO bought it I lost all access to my movies that I bought over the years. Attempts to work with customer service are pointless. They ask redundant questions and appear to not even have a solution for the issue. DO NOT USE. It is a bad service, look somewhere else

More cons than pros, unfortunately.
Pros:
- They have good sales.
- Fun to shop on.
- I loved building my library (I own hundreds of licenses).
- Easy to use on many devices.
- Good presentation.
- Rarely experienced errors.
- Some purchases come with bonus material like on the DVDs.
- It will stream on the setting that best fits the device used. It used to be that you had to purchase the resolution, now the licenses usually play the movie at the highest resolution your device can support, which is cool.
- I LOVE the “what parents need to know” section.
Cons:
- the internal workings of your access to your account are not consistent or reliable, they seem to be a mess. They will ask you for what message you get. I think they should already know, being the service.
- The service changed ownership and branding about three times since I started using it. It absorbed my UltraViolet licenses, then it became Walmart, then it became Fandango, and each time the prices went up which is bothersome.
- (and this is a big one for me) Can’t access your movies while traveling outside the USA. The service literally advertises “Movies ANYWHERE” but the policy is for US use only… so, false advertising. 40% of the reason I chose to purchase my movie licenses is to watch my movies during travel. Sitting on one’s couch isn’t the ONLY way to enjoy a movie or show, so it’s annoying to be that limited. So another reason it may not be for everyone.
- (another big one) If you have to use VPN for any reason (for me it’s for work), you will be locked out of your own service on some devices which I think is unacceptable. Both things are out of our control and conflict with each other, so the service may not be for someone who has to use VPN for whatever reason. So in an attempt to filter out savvy users they have inconvenienced everyone. I also don’t think it’s right to lock anyone out of a service they have purchases on.
- They don’t have a lot of in-movie watching options, as in you can’t change the language, the subtitles languages, etc… as comfortably as with a Blu-ray DVD.
- If you purchase something that turns out to be something questionable, even if you haven’t watched it halfway, they will not remove it or refund you. As in no-returns, ever. The horrible movie is there forever. They should figure out a return policy.
- Their customer service is pretty bad and inconsistent. One agent will ask you for two things for “security”to “verify” your identity, and another will ask for 6 things, including the last 4 digits of your credit card number. Go figure. Some agents are good, while other agents have an attitude even when you’re nice to them. They take your complaints about the service personally and may hang up on you or be testy. They’re usually nice, but some of them are not, and there is no way to rate them or save your conversation.

this is one of the worst sites ever!! I have over 250 movies that I have purchased. I have downloaded about 30 movies on my SD card/ but If I am traveling outside the US the app doesnt work! this is pure BS!!
If I paid for the movies, I should be able to access them wherever I am! DONT USE THESE GUYS! FIND A BETTER PROVIDER! AFTER READING OTHER REVIEWS, I THINK ITS TIME FOR A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT!!

I have not been able to log in to my account since they were swallowed by fandango ! I have done everything they tell me and still my WiFi is blocked. Their customer service is awful, they just repeat the same old stuff and tell me they are working on it but you never hear back from them and when you contact them again they have no idea who you are . I have paid for 64 movies and can not watch any of them on my computer or tv. Going on 4 months . Been a customer for 3 years and now 500 dollars later I feel ripped off

If I could give a 0 I would. I have excellent screen shots of my conversation with a Vudu agent and how rude and unhelpful he was. I will be reviewing my interaction on as many sites as possible at this point as Vudu and Fandango could give a rats ass about “movies anywhere” dumb slogan when it is not true.
